Toy Story special event for passholders in September

I am so bummed. I've waited all summer for the stupid email inviting annual passholders to register for "Passholder Play Time" at Toy Story Land in September. Then just now I noticed it was sent out three days ago and I overlooked it. I clicked on "register" and the event is now full. So I guess we can kiss goodbye any chances of getting fast passes for the Slinky Dog Dash anytime soon.

We also missed the Passholder event for Pandora last year and still haven't been able to get fast passes for Flight of Passage in all this time.

Has anyone here attended any of the annual passholder special events like this? What all does it entail? The email only had very brief details.

Actually, I found a Slinky Dog Dash for 4:20 today. I had to jump back and forth between the “Afternoon” and “Evening” time slots for a while, but eventually one showed up. If you really want to get FP’s for SDD and Flight of Passage, I would suggest that method.

I wonder if they will kick you out once your hour is up. When I attended the Pandora preview, I could stay as long as I wanted.

I've not done the AP events but have done the DVC Moonlight Magic ones and they are really awesome. What sucks is that the last few events have been either right after we leave or right before we arrive. The Hollywood Studios Moonlight Magic events are for September this year and the last one is just a few days before our next trip in October. I'm definitely gonna be booking our FP's for Slinky 60 days in advance as quickly as they become available.

27 minutes?! Wow. It sounds like very few spots are available in proportion to the number of passholders who would want to take advantage of it. I'm wondering what Disney is thinking by promoting and teasing the APs with an event that fills up in 27 minutes. I would have to be constantly checking email to grab a spot as soon as it becomes available? I'm kind of turned off by this. I know it's my bad for missing the email until three days after the fact but even if I had caught it the day it was sent out, I likely wouldn't have seen it until the event was all filled up. Why do they do this?

Thank you for that tip. I will try it. I always wait until 7 a.m. 30 days out to set up FPs in advance. It sounds like you got yours yesterday when you were in the park? That's awesome! It looks like fun. My husband and I visited Toy Story Land the other day and loved it. We went on Toy Story Mania. Next week we have FPs to Swirling Saucers and are looking forward to that too.

So does anyone know what exactly happens at these AP events? Are you allowed to get multiple FPs or something? Do they offer any freebies? I'm just curious.

Wow... I guess I shouldn't tell you that at all these events they also randomly hand out vouchers for free APs to the special guests, or that one lucky guest always gets a night in the castle... No... I won't even bother trying to make you feel worse.

When they done that Year of a Million Dreams thing like 10 years ago or so we faithfully would send in every week trying to get our name drawn for the stay in the Castle. We never did BUT we DID win a free set of Mickey Ears. LOL! I've always wished they'd turn the Castle suite in to the DVC Lounge at the MK.
