Just curious how the wait times at Toy Story Mania have been lately. I arrive at the World at 3pm Sunday, Jan 31st. The rest of my family wont be there until later that night. I am thinking about heading to the Studios to ride TSM a few times that first afternoon and evening. Should I expect hour plus waits?

It's worth it to get everybody there in the morning to get Fastpass.

Having said that, If you're in line a few minutes before closing, the line ZOOMS as soon as Fastpass people stop coming in.

I think if they would just eliminate Fast Pass for this ride, the line would move at a much better pace.

I've seen the lines still at 50 mins close to the park's closing.

Got a FP at 10:30 with a return time of 6:30, park closing and Fant! at 8:00. :dazzle: What does that tell you?!

Worth it, though.

Standby was at 40, and then jumped to 80-90 during the afternoon.

When I was there on December 28, the wait was 180 mins... 3 hours! :dazzle:

The only time I've heard of waits like that are at Tokyo Disneyland, and when Indiana Jones first opened at Disneyland. I don't get it, the ride's not that new.

This is what happens when you combine a good attraction with the addictive properties of a video game.

We'll be there a few mornings of our trip, I am just trying to decide if I will go there solo my first night in the parks... Looks like I'll just wait.

I think I wouldnt mind that. As long as they have a singles line. Over at DCA they just have a singles line and no fp. And it works so much better that way IMO.

TSMM would work much better without a Fastpass IMO. The people that rush into the park and grab the FastPass before everyone else unnecessarily slow down the process for the rest of the day. But because of the relatively fast-loading nature of the ride, it would be able to handle a continuously-loading crowd relatively well on its own.

DCA's Midway Mania, which doesn't use FastPass, generally has a queue of 20 minutes or so.

Generalizations and History of Past Wait Times (based on my guess)

Summer Daily Average - 80 to 150 minutes.
Fall Daily Average - 50 to 110 minutes.
Holiday Season Daily Average - 110 to 250 minutes.
Current Off Season Daily Average - 40 to 100 minutes.

The absolute latest I have heard/seen of Fastpasses being entirely distributed has been around 2:30pm. The earliest I have heard/seen the gone has been by 10:30am. By lunch if they are not all gone, they are for the final couple hours the park is open.

Wait times yesterday (very low attendance, no Fantasmic) were around 30-60 minutes. Wait times today (medium attendance, 2 Fantasmics) was around 50-90 minutes.

Helpful Hints:
-If you can see the line (through the glass area or outside), the wait is going to be at least 60 minutes almost no matter what the wait times states. If you can't see the line, the wait time may be less that 60 minutes no matter what the wait time states.

-Take a look at the Fastpass line. If a large group of people are waiting to get in for their Fastpass time, try again later. Fastpass makes the line twice as long.

-Go during the Block Party Bash, first Fantasmic, and any LMA shows. Avoid the times immediately following them.

-If you can go before 11am, do it. Get a Fastpass and get in line. Usually, the line isn't too long and moves much faster in the first few hours of operation.

-Toy Story Midway Mania will have longer lines on weekends (Fri-Sun), on Extra Magic Hour dates, on Fantasmic nights, and on holidays. Period.

-Get in line right before park close. If you get in line by X:59pm, then you will usually be out of there by Y:30pm. Even if the wait is 100 mins when you enter, the line will be completely through in at least 45 mins. Why? No Fastpass and the ride operators work faster to go home.

And just as a reminder...
-Fastpasses can be used after their time says they "end". Use your Fastpasses later or during busy times.
-There is no single rider line at DHS for Toy Story.
-Fastpasses are not distributed during extra magic hours. (I'm not sure if they are even accepted during extra magic hours.)

There ya go. Hope that helps.

When I visited WDW Dec. 11-16, walked past Midway Mania and did a double-take. The wait time sign said 190 minutes on Monday, Dec. 14.

Yeah -- 190 minutes. Yeah -- 3 hours, 10 minutes. I have a picture. Let me find it and post it.

Asked a cast member near Miday Mania to see if it was true, and they said that was an error. It was more like 60 minutes.

EDIT - Found the image

We were there on Tuesday Dec 22nd and saw our first rope drop, we headed right for TSM and waited about 1/2 hour in the regular line and the fastpass line was all the way down the street already. The longest wait time we noticed was 210 minutes around noon that day. Get there early and either wait in the regular line and send someone from your party to get fastpasses for another attraction then skip through to meet you or wait an hour in the fastpass line while people let there 6yr old try and run the fastpass machine.

The longest I waited on this attraction was about 60 minutes. I decided to ride it and think for me an hour is the most i can possibly wait for any attraction. Potato Head at least makes passing the time fun.

When I was in DCA & Disneyland last spring the longest I waited for Midway Mania was around 40min. The line moved very quickly. Also what I loved about Disneyland in general is that hardly any of the rides use Fastpass and the lines actually move very quickly and the wait time's are generally low. Now some days are better than the others so i can't say its always like that.

Midway Mania in DHS is almost hidden and then you get to that area and its always packed with tons of people, but it really is worth the wait so I always venture in.
