It's so weird. If this movie is made, I actually WANT it to flop. I want a Disney movie to flop! What's this world comming to?
Nah, I also wanted "The Country Bears" to flop. . . and if it means changing management, bringing back 2-D, to h-e-doublehockeysticks with Chicken Little.

Sorry. :D

I hope every sequel they make flops.
General wisdom shows that 95% of the time they are, or don't live up to the original. Has disney ever made a sucessful sequel. I think people are some what to blame. If they didn't go out and see the sequel then disney would be less inclined to produce them. It is funny too, because everbody knows sequels suck, they all go and see it hopeing it will be good and usually they are alwasy let down. Talk about not learning the lesson.

Although there are die hard fans out there that love the character and the story and don't really care if it sucks are not, they just want to see it. They turn out to be the only ones winning, except the company who makes the movie.

Disney will likely put a lot more effort into this then those sequels in question (so it doesn't make sense to predict how this movie will be based on that).

Simba's pride was good, as was the third installment of Alladin...

Speaking of Tom Hanks... I can't remember where online that I saw the story, but I read that Tom said at this point he is not interested in another Toy Story sequal unless Pixar is making it. So, if Tom Hanks doesn't do it I hope that Disney doesn't try to recast the role. I would hate to see this movie with someone trying to sound like Hanks. It just brings back bad thoughts of the Genie without Robin Williams, ugh :brick:
Hanks has commented that he was not sure if he would reprise the role of Woody. At this time it would depend on if the Disney made film would meet Pixar standards. Tim Allen said that he would be delighted to return as Buzz.

I agree that Disney has been less than fair with it's fans by putting out sequel after sequel. But we all understand that Disney is not a not-for -profit organization. Because of the recent popularity with sequels over the last decade or so, Disney has used the opportunity to milk consumers by creating sidekicks of previously successful films. To allow a popular franchise to fade away would not be logical from a corporate stand point.
There are many marketing opportunities available by resurfacing the same characters over and over again. It is unfortunate that Disney continues to put energy into these lesser films while neglecting quality storytelling. The last few films have been failures because of lack of focus and because Disney sacrificed good film making for low overhead. It could be that the past few films have been fundraisers after the failure of the very expensive "Alamo", or CBJ. The fact is that at this time Disney is making bad choices at the expense of their audience.

Is it safe to assume that Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas is done with Disney's 3D team? If so, it's not as good as Pixar. They've got it on lock.

Does Pixar own any rights to the characters of Toy Story or 2? J/w
