No way out...no way out...no way out...

Just keep repeating that to yourself, you HAVE to do this, and you'll love us all for encouraging you too ride it as well. I hope you have fun, and...GOOD LUCK! If you stop breathing, make sure someone takes you to the HM so you can become the 1000th ghost.

I'm embarrassed to admit that with all the times we've been to WDW I have never gone on the Tower of Terror. I am absolutely terrified to go on it. I guess I'm just not a thrill ride person (it took my husband 5 years to get me on Splash Mountain). My thing is, my husband is on a campaign to get me on ToT during our upcoming trip. He promises me that I will survive, that the drops happen very quickly and that you can feel the brakes hitting almost immediately. He also says the special effects make it worth it. My question is, if I can handle the drop on Splash Mountain (I don't love it but I do it) do you think I can handle ToT or should I avoid it at all costs?

Thank you for your help.

Go on it - You'll be just fine.

I won't lie to you. It's much scarier than Splash Mountain, and the drops DO seem to be longer (because they are), but you'll love it.

It's a great ride, and the first time you go on it, you're so scared waiting for the drops, that by the time they actually happen, it's over.

The scariest part honestly will be when your group is next to get on the elevator. I've been on it about 10 times and that part STILL gets me nervous everytime.

I have to agree with Mellie that the drops in ToT are easier to deal with because it doesn't appear as though your are falling into anything (ground, briar patch, etc.) since you don't have that down-looking view.

Everyone is correct with the ride being over quicker than you have time to be scared.

There was a thread where people discussed letting things loose in the car on the downward fall (dangerous!!) but a pair of glasses around your neck on a glasses keeper will help you appreciate what is really going on in the car (they float in front of you!!!). Definitely lots of fun and no where near as bad as Splash (for me at least!)

I just noticed, you are a New Yorker (I'm a ex NY'er). There's no excuse for a NY'er being a scaredy cat. Only people from Boston (Red Sox fans) are allowed to be wimps

It actually appears that NY'ers are scared to lose. So they spend $$$$ to build a team, so they wont lose!!!
