Hi everyone,
I just wanted to let you all know that my band, the Ambridge Area High School Marching band and Steel Drum Ensamble, will be marching Tournament of Roses Parade on New Years Day!!! Watch for us on TV. I am the fifth row of instruments back and third on from my left side of the road!! I hope you enjoy. Plus there is supposed to be a tower of terror float for DCA's TOT.

Some of you might remeber our band from last year, we were the band for the Christmas Parade in Disney last year. This year our Steel Drums will be integrated with the band for a truly unique experience!!! Some of you may have saw them at downtown disney last year in December.

I hope you all can watch. We are the 8th unit out of the 100 units that are in the parade. It will be commercial free on HGTV.
Hope you enjoy!!

Oh, yeah I play the Melaphone (Marching French Horn).

The best part of the trip will be finally going to disneyland!! LOL

Thanks for watching~

I've done that parade twice.....

Have fun lining up at 5 AM, and don't let the 5+ miles scare you. Remember, it's all about pacing.

My band ALMOST got to go, thank goodness they didn't!! I didn't want to walk all that way! Some other band had first dibs if they wanted to go back, and they wanted to, so we didn't get to go.

GOOD LUCK! :sohappy:

Congrats!! I'll be sure to watch( I watch every year anyway).
If you get nervous, as I often do, since I'm in a choir, always look at the conductor(or batanist, in your case), and you'll be nervous free! Yeah, I've heard about that DCA-ToT float. It's called, 'A Drop in Pitch'. It's supposed to be 100 feet tall, but that's the equivalent of 13 stories, it's impossible to drive that around...but then Disney does anything for money and attendance for the DCA park...

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to say....
I was working at World of Disney in Downtown Disney here in Anaheim last year, and so many of the Folks that participated in the Rose parade came thru that entire week. Everyone was SO nice and extremely friendly!
I hope you have the best time! Too bad im not there this year...it was one of the experiences that stand out:)

I am finally back in PA!! The parade was amazing and a great experience!! what did ya all think of the steel drums with our band?? It went off great minus a few steel drums falling off the carts due to speed bumps, but oh well. There were so many people i was so nerous!!

On a side note, Disneyland was amazing!!! even though it was filled yo capacity!! I loved their rides better than florida's!! They seem to have taken more time with detail and such!! anyways i have to go unpack!! happy new year!!
