Touring Resort Rooms

Here's my situation. I will be staying in a standard Little Mermaid room at AoA for a week in December.

Forward from that, I'm looking towards a trip with some family in a couple years. It would be my sister and niece, plus my sisters husband and his son. The children will be 10 and 5 at that point.

During my upcoming stay, I'm interested in trying to get a look at one of the family suites at AoA in order to judge the size of the space. Is this possible? Is it a common request?

Thanks for the input.

I have done it before. I had been begging my mom for a couple of years to stay at OKW because the rooms are larger and we like having the space. On one trip I asked her if we could just go and ask if we can see the type of room we would be getting. They didn't mind at all to show us. She's been hooked on OKW ever since. As long as they have a room available, you shouldn't have any problem.

You can always make the request. Hotels will sometimes do that but just keep in mind that it will depend on there being an unoccupied room being available to view and the staff being available to escort you. In our hotel group we've done this on occasion and though a bit unusual not unheard of so give it a try.

Yes 100% you can tour any room at any resort. Last time we were there we went and looked in rooms at AKL, GF, Contemporary, Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge. Saratoga Springs. We usually stay at
Pop Century but wanted to check out some of the other resorts. Just ask at the desk and they will have someone come and show you any room you want:)

A few years back, we stopped at the front desk of Boardwalk to get a tour of rooms. A very nice cast member escorted us to unoccupied rooms of various types. If you're staying onsite at AoA and want to see the other rooms, I'd stop by the front desk to make arrangements. If your stay is the first half of December, it should be no problem to see unoccupied rooms. During Christmas week, it might be a bit more dicey to find them.

My goal for Christmas 2014 is to take a tour of the lobby/gift shops at all/most resorts. We'll most likely stay at POR and I found this website OLP WDW Transportation Wizard (http://www.ourlaughingplace.com/aspx/twiz.aspx) to figure out the best way to get from resort to resort using Disney transportation. We once tried driving over to GF with our own car and security would not let us in to view the lobby, so we'll take the monorail in instead!! Because where's there's a will, there's a way!!;)
