ToT WDW's and Disneyland's buildings

That does look amazing! I think this may have to be my next park to visit...

Yes, you should, but just remember, you may be disappointed whenever you go back to WDW after that, for things other than ToT. I still think DHS's ToT is the best, although Tokyo's is close, the ride system and 5th dimension room seal the deal for me. Elevators that suddenly and unexpectedly move forward are something that none of the other parks have.

I'm going to have to agree with Lee. Tokyo's looks the best. Florida's is still nice.

You know why Tokyo's tower looks so much better?

Their ToT is an intact structure. None of this 'hit by lightning' nonsense.

I don't expect to change anyones mind, but...What???? It is supposed to be a building struck by lightening. It is an intricate part of the story at WDW. It is supposed to be damaged...why would everyone have left the place if there was no damage to the building? Besides it is a much more believable facade. It truly looks like an old time hotel from the outside. Those others look more like a castle. The one in DCA...well I don't know what to say about that one...looks like they ran out of plastic stone. It looks more like a building designed and built in the 90's instead of the 30's:)

Look at DL's Mansion facade. Unlike all the other ones, it's clean and pretty and it works fine that way. It's unique. Just because it's supposed to be scary doesn't mean it has to look scary. It's typical. IMO that's even more creepy. A harmless looking building that's actually ghostly and haunted on the inside. Tokyo's Tower is more impressive looking to me and I like that it's not like all the other ones, like DL's Mansion. Not to mention Tokyo's version has nothing to do with The Twilight Zone.

OK, I know that they are all different and for different reasons...but, I still maintain that because of the story line at DHS it is absolutely well done and I personally like it the best of the outside facades that I have seen. I have only been in the one...so I cannot really comment on the internal story lines, but we were talking about what was outside and visible. The others may be appropriate for the story, I don't know, but I aesthetically like the DHS version the best.:)

I think the one in DL and DLP I guess, look the best. The one in Tokyo is nice though, but I like the way the DL ones look. But with that said, the actual ride and experience suck compared to the one in mgm. I felt like I was waiting forever to board the elevator and the whole getting on and off at the same place minus the 5th dimension room just left a bad taste in my mouth. mgm's is the best.

That's fine.

The only thing that makes MGM odd to me is the signage placing. It should be moved up IMO.

If I remember correctly, the HTH sign on the front of the Florida building was meant to look like it was falling off the front of the hotel and had partially collapsed/fallen downward from its original placement higher up. Hence why it is over top of some of the elevator doors.

That fact doesn't really carry through on the execution of the concept, though.

Edit: You can see in the billboard in the park "advertising" the Hollywood Tower Hotel that the sign was supposedly originally higher up on the facade.
