I've been hearing about the new sequences on ToT for awhile now and I was wondering what does the one sequence do where it shoots you up?

Do you even rise at all slowly and see all the movies? Because how could they shoot you up if that first lift is just to get you to the drop shaft? Or is that you just complete a regular drop sequence and than you think the rides over but it shoots you up?

It's pretty cool. All is the same except for the DROP.
One of the one I experienced in Jan.04 was a full drop, full lift, half drop, full lift, full drop, lift, half drop, lift, half drop, lift, than one last full drop.

It was AWESOME! :sohappy:

A few years ago they re-did the drop sequences and randomized it. So, now, the computer that runs the ride randomly selects one of 4 drop sequences on each trip.

You still travel up in the main shaft and see the "Hallway Scene" then get to the 5th DImension and travel to the drop shaft.

If you want to see the drop sequences, go here:

After moving across the 5th dimension, you enter the drop shaft. At the point, rather than falling, you get shot up about 4 stories (not sure exactly how many... but you're not at the top when you enter the shaft). It's actually pretty jarring to expect to fall and then fly upwards.

Oh so the last tower of terror didnt actually drop you from the top if theres 4 stories it can shoot you up?

Because if I recall right you go through the 5th dimension that weird light door thing opens and than you drop.....If thats right than the new tower of terror is an even bigger drop?

Im going to have to ride ToT alot the next time I go so i can experince each sequence.

Thats pretty accurate. I do belive 3 new sequences were added to the shaft - to make a total of 4 sequences you can get while riding. They are givin at random. So there is not really a way to find out which one you will get.

2 shoot up from the 5th D

2 shoot down from the 5th D

Someone had a chart for the drop sequences at one point, mapping them all out. If I find it again, I'll post it.

And yes, when you enter the drop shaft you are not at the top of the tower. You have a bit more to go to reach the top.
