Topolino Dinner Question

So we are staying in a 1BR at Riviera our first night before heading to POR the next day when our in-laws arrive. We were just kind of thinking of a small dinner. However, I scored a reservation for Topolino's that night at 8:35. Thinking maybe a small 'surprise' for her. I saw some youtube videos and you get a pretty awesome view of Epcot fireworks! Does anyone know if they will let you get up from your table to watch the fireworks in the middle of your dinner and take as much time as you want? I will try to score an earlier reservation (say 8PM) but was just curious.

TIA - you all have been incredibly helpful!

Yes, it won't be a problem at all. In fact, a good portion of the other diners may get up and go out there with you! (We usually let our server know that's the plan.)

Topolino's is one of our favorites; the food and hospitality there are among the best on property! Enjoy.

Woohoo that's awesome to hear!!! That will be a real treat. We are doing a breakfast there on a later day and super excited to score this. I still will try to get an earlier reservation though.

Thanks!

Agree. It wouldn't surprise if they pipe the music in as well. Cali Grill pipes in the music and lets you go outside for the MK fireworks.

We were there at sunset (which was beautiful) lots of people got up and went to the Terrace. Same for the fireworks (it was a long dinner 🤪).
Considering our resy time at 8:35, as long as they let us go out on the terrace during our meal and dont try to rush us back to our meal during fireworks, Im cool.
I will still try to get a 745ish resy though to try and be respectful of seating.

Honestly, there’s no issue with going out for the entire show - your server’s not going to track you down and drag you back to your seat 😉

The only issue is with your food possibly cooling off while you’re out there. At Cali Grill we were almost done and didn’t really care but our server saw we went out and covered our plates to try to keep the food warm. Don’t know if they do this at Topo.

FYI, we arrived too early (we couldn’t check in more than x minutes before the res). We sat at the bar and had a drink and an appetizer first.

Random follow up: So I'm an idiot and wifey saw the dinner reservation because I added her as the 'guest'. Oh well.
She said she wanted something earlier and not super late since we'd have been awake since probably 3 AM. Grabbed a 5:05 reservation luckily. I wonder, if we are still awake, will they let us out on the terrace later in the evening or is that only for current diners? Sorry for the silly question!

Last time (pre-covid) we were at Cali Grill, fireworks music and soundtrack was piped to terraces but not into restaurant itself. FWIW

It’s not silly and the answer is yes. Just show your dinner receipt at the host stand.

We’ll be at Topolino’s for dinner this Thursday. If you have any other questions, I would be happy to ask for you and post the answers.

Can you find out if we can go to the bar, get a glass of wine and sit out on the terrace without having a dinner reservation? Not during fireworks, early evening around 5 or so.

please and thank you!

Gracious offer!!! I don't think I have anymore. The key one (since we changed times ultimately) was whether they would let us come back later to watch on the terrace. Since that is a yes, that's about all I can think of. I look forward to enjoying the Riviera for the day (this is a DVC test #1 for us).

@Schweino : I confirmed that you may dine early and return for fireworks viewing on the patio by showing your receipt.

@dreday3 : As of now, you can buy a drink at the bar and take it out on the patio without having a dinner reservation - except at prime times during the busiest days of the year.

There is a lounge area outside with a bar and couches, tables and chairs but no one is manning the outside bar due to labor shortages.

I recommend dinner at Topolino’s. The food is great, although my husband hates the breadStyx.
