Wow... emailed George Kalogridis (President of Walt Disney World) today with a query as I had had no response from some other sources and got a phone call back to say they are working on my query within 2 hours... top service in my opinion!

Well in an update my travel company called me after been contacted by Disney to apologise and confirm they could infact do what I wanted and then half an hour later a lovely lady rang me to check my travel agent had been in touch... I'm extremely happy with the service I received.

Are you going to enlighten us as to the content of this query?

I wanted to add quick service dining but didn't need a ticket as I have a platinum pass my travel agent said no and disney UK said my travel agent could... my travel agent said Disney UK could... then they both said talk to the other I got fed up and emailed George and it was sorted less than 24 hours later.

I don't mean to be too much of a wet-blanket, but what you're describing sounds like lousy customer service. Having to escalate a situation to that level so that Disney will take your money is absurd. Any number of people in a lower position at Guest Relations should have offered to call the travel agent or provide you with an email explaining what needed to be done.

The fact that George's office resolved it quickly is in fact good service on their part, but it only came about because of a failure of service at a lower level.

In any case, glad it got solved for you.

Well to be fair to Disney... it was mainly an issue with my travel agent as I did not book the holiday through Disney... Disney have stepped in and sorted it out for me when they did not have to.

...because they wanted to make sure they didn't loose the money you were going to spend on them.

Well they weren't going to lose the money... I explained I was not planning on leaving site during my vacation so I would of been spending the money regardless and would of speant more than I will now but each to their own opinion but to resolve it when I contacted them for me as quickly as they did is good service in my book.

Then if issue was with agent why call WDW?

Because I've paid them a lot of money for an annual pass... it states annual pass holders can book dining plans but my travel agent said I couldn't and disney said I could... I took a chance disney would be able to assist me in resolving the matter and they have.

A nice guest recovery gesture, to be sure... was it from the Disney company or your travel agent?
