Hey all

2 questions:

1) Is the lounge still open to all DVC members?
2) For those of you who have been up there, what's it like/is it worth it? Can kids go up too (ours are 10 and 12)? We were thinking of going up one night to watch the fireworks

I was wondering the same thing if all DVC members have access as we own at AKV and would like to stop by the lounge while there in Dec. We will not be staying at BLV either. :)

Yes, all DVC members staying @ WDW on points can visit.

The lounge is nice and quiet at least when it first opens in late afternoon. I brought our 12 Y/O daughter there and she enjoyed having a light meal and relaxing a bit with us. It is more of a quiet lounge I would hope the people would not bring a bunch of kids up there that would be running around and screaming because it is one of the few little gems you can find that is not overrun by rude obnoxious guests. It is quite quiet when it first opens up, but does get loud and noisy for Wishes. We personally only go there when it first opens for that quiet time with a light dinner and cocktails and stay away around fireworks time.

The food menu is quite limited so do not expect much there, but they do have a full bar. Do not miss the somewhat hidden balcony that is behind the bar and overlooks Bay Lake. The door for the balcony to the left side of the bar and is accessible only from inside the lounge. I wish they would have made it larger and had tables out there for it's patrons.

Be aware that the view for the fireworks is quite skewed. Wishes was developed to be viewed best when looking at the Cinderella Castle when looking from either Main St USA or the hub. There are also great viewing locations in BLT on every floor where the elevators are located. There is even seating and windows from floor to ceiling with typically no crowds.

You can also see Illuminations from the BLT observation deck. It is best during the holiday season when the holiday tag is added to Illuminations because they add a ton of high aerial fireworks which you can see better since Epcot is a few miles away.

I meant to add that in order to gain access to Top of the World you need to check-in at the ground floor main entrance where a CM will take you to the elevator and use an access card to send the elevator to the top floor. There is no other way up there unless your room is on the top floor at which you room card will allow you access. It is highly monitored and controlled unless this has changed since I was there last.

Just to clarify sorry I know you said any DVC member staying at WDW on points can visit. That does include us eventhough we do not own in BLT right. Can't wait to visit the lounge for the first time as new DVC members this Dec!!!! Yay!!!! :)

Thanks for the info. I figured the fireworks would look a bit odd when looking at them off to the side, but we've seen wishes (and hallowishes) enough times the proper way, that we thought we'd mix it up a bit. We'll be there in September so we may try Hallowishes from the lounge one night. Thanks again.

To my knowledge:
Anyone staying specifically @ BLT on points, cash or renting point can visit the Top of the World Lounge.
Any DVC member staying @ a DVC resort on points can visit the Top of the World Lounge.

Since everyone answered your 1st question.. all I have to say is that I am very happy that I was able to visit Top of the World Lounge in September. It was amazing! I went right outside and just stared at the amazing view and took so many pics. It was truly amazing and something I will always remember. Was up there twice, once during the day and again at night and it is spectacular at night! I was on cloud 9! :D
