5. Ride, re-ride, re-re-ride, re-re-re-ride, re-re-re-re-ride, etc. Crush n' Gusher. No water slide has ever made me openly laugh like I did on this one. Disney really needs to build a water park in Anaheim with something like Crush n' Gusher.

That is a GREAT idea. Why don't they have a water park at the DL resort?

It's hard to narrow it down to five, so here are the first five things that came to mind...

1. Ride the "mountains."
2. Visit as many resorts as possible.
3. Check out the Mitsukoshi Department Store in Japan.
4. Be a kid at the Fantasyland attractions.
5. Visit the Partners statue at the Hub.

I'd rather cut through Maelstrom to get to The Spirit of Norway. Any attraction that ends by saying the best part of a modern-day society is its dependence on oil is a sad attraction, indeed.

thanks so much for this thread! i'm taking my youngest on a "surprise " trip in 18 days- i'm so excited, i can hardly keep the secret!

in fact, i've started to make my own list of sorts! i think we're just going to act as much like two teens on the loose in wdw! snack, party, ride, snack, do, dream, laugh, share, and of course believe!

this has made my night after a tough night at work!

thanks!

The top five things I might recommend to someone going to Disney for the first time are different than my own top 5, so

Top 5 recommended:
-At MK, you must enjoy Main Street (that means not running through it to get to the E-rides without even stopping to look). There's fastpass, so you don't need to rush so much. If you have a couple days to open MK, choose one to hit the rides, and choose one to enjoy the ambiance.
-At DAK, you must do the Safari (preferably in the morning, first thing)
-At EPCOT, you must visit World Showcase and stop in each country and take some time to enjoy the architecture, food, shops, and drink
-You must understand that you will not do and see everything ever no matter how many times you go. Live in the moment.
-You must see either Wishes or Illuminations (my vote is STRONGLY for Illuminations but for a first timer, Wishes is the quintessential fireworks over the castle that I know you want to see.)

Top 5 things I must do:
-Eat a chocolate covered frozen banana while waving to the Tree of Life.
-Ride the safari first thing in the morning.
-Enjoy Soarin' several times.
-Enjoy Spaceship Earth as many times as possible (this is the ride that screams "Disney" to me. My first time there, I rode it. When I worked there, if I got downhearted, I went on that ride and it reminded me why I was there and why I love the place).
-Enjoy Illuminations as many times as possible.

Lists? I love lists!

5 - Ride a boat at Bay Lake
4 - Wander the nature trails at Fort Wilderness
3 - Stare at Spaceship Earth forever.
2 - Desperately try to finally come up with a clever way of touching Spaceship Earth at last...
1 - Shred apart your commando schedule, and just go wherever your curiousity, your eyes, your smell direct you.
