Toontown Fair

Does anyone know if Mickey's house will still be up May8-16? We are heading down there...and the past two times we went...we never really took the time to take pictures of our son in the house & would really like to before it's gone. I know Toontown isn't the most exciting part of MK which is why we kinda just fly through it...but would really like to enjoy it a little bit this coming trip

Thanks!

I think you will be safe. A few insiders here have said that Disney plans to release an official shut down date for Toon Town Fair in advance to allow people to see it before it goes. And so far there have been no announcements. I'm sure someone more "in-the-know" can verify this for me. I've read here that it will be up and running for most of this year still. Possibly closing down in late fall or early winter.

Yep currently there is no public date, and internally they are still finalising the dates. You should certainly be OK in May.

I was thinking the same thing. I really want to recreate a picture of my girls on their first trip at Minnie's House when they were 3 and 4, now they are 10 and 12. Our trip is the same time May 8-16

What a relief! I'm so glad that their houses will still be there to see one last time! Our son is 2...both times we went previously he refused to stay still long enough to get a good picture...not to mention the houses were always crowded. Hopefully this time I get a few great pics in each of the houses & all around Toontown since it won't be there for long.

hbaker - That will be such a cute picture to take since they're older now!! That will be a cute memory! I hope we're choosing a good week to be at the world! Everything i've read has been good!

I am thinking it will be good, warm but not too hot. I know they had torrential, record setting downpours last year at this time, but that can't happen 2 yrs in a row, right? We are taking grandma & great-grandma with us and are really excited about the Flower Festival too!

I have heard that September 13th is the day of doom for Toon Town Fair. After the summer season is over.

Interesting... have you heard when they will let the public know? Disney did say they would give notice beforehand!

And a little OT here... but does anybody know where the M&Gs for the princesses and the Fairies will go in the mean time? Especially the Fairies as their land doesn't open until much later (if at all)!

I wanted to ask that question at the Q&A at the D23 party but they ended it before I got a chance to ask!

Glad to hear this news! I figured Toontown would be down on my next trip. I'll have to make the most of it, and take a lot of pictures.

EnchantedRose: Enjoy taking lots of pictures of your son! I know if I had children, I would definitely want to spend some time there too. :)

Besides, they're not done with M&M's new homes in the Expo Hall - they can't go homeless!

Oh, and Phase 1 of the FL expansion doesn't affect TT, and that's all they're doing to far. End of summer seems very likely.

The buzz is that Entertainment was told they'd have to start preparing to move in June or July; the actual move would be some time after that. You'll be fine in May (and probably all summer).
