Too Tight Scheduling Wise?

As I posted in another thread, my friend and I are going to Disney World in May. I have been to DW before but I haven't been to Animal Kingdom since 2004 and I was a kindergartener then so I really don't remember much.

Anyways we only have one day to spend at AK and I want to do every show and ride.

I secured a FP for Avatar FOP from 12:30-1:30pm.

The way I have scheduled everything out, I have us attending the Finding Nemo musical at noon. Supposedly it is 40 minutes which in theory would give us enough time to use our FOP FP.

I however have no idea in reality if this is a feasible plan. As much as I want to see the show, there is no way I want to risk not being able to use our FOP FPs considering the HOURS AND HOURS one would have to wait otherwise for what I've read is currently the best ride in Disney.

Should I try to rearrange or will we have enough time to get to FOP after the show to use our FPs?

Thanks everyone!

It may be tight but its doable. Your FP is good for the hours time. People have said CM's are allowing a short time over as a grace period. If you go to Nemo for noon and its a 40 min show, if it extends time youll be out by 1:00 or so. You still have time to travel over to FoP. Be sure to sit in the back of the theater and near the exits so you can make a fast escape when the show ends. If it is too worrisome to you make the Nemo change if its possible. You dont want to stress out while at Disney.

It’s doable. Nemo would end at 12:40. You have until 1:40 to use your FP. A 10 minute grace period is built in to all FP’s. After that Mickey won’t turn green and you are at the mercy of the CM. If your still worried, you can always sneak out as the CM’s of Nemo are taking their bows that way your ahead of the exiting crowd.

Since Nemo is on the hour starting at 11:00 I would see this at a different especially since you don’t remember the park you may want to slow down a little to see things. I can spend 10 minuets watching the monkeys in Asia. What are your other FP for the day?

I have fastpasses for DINOSAUR and Expedition Everest.

I have a VERY planned out schedule for Animal Kingdom because I really want to do it all-but also not have terrible seats for shows or not enough time to casually eat or no time to re-ride favorite rides (I've done Indiana Jones in Disneyland and had to ride it multiple times-I heard DINOSAUR is supposedly the same ride so I want time to do it at least twice)

Wake up 6:40am
Leave hotel with Uber at 7:25am
Safari Breakfast at Tusker House Restaurant w/ROL 1st Viewing 8:00am
Na’vi River Journey 9:30-10:40am
DINOSAUR FastPass 10:15-11:15am (10:45-10:55am)
RIDES/BREAK IN DINOLAND 10:55-11:25am:
Primeval Whirl (20 mins)
TriceraTop Spin (10 mins)
Arrive at Finding Nemo at 11:30am
Finding Nemo the Musical at 12pm-12:50pm
Avatar Flight of Passage FastPass 12:30-1:30pm (12:50-1:20pm)
SNACK/RIDE BREAK 1:20-2:30pm
Expedition Everest FastPass 2:30-3:30pm
Kilimanjaro Safaris (2:50-4:15pm)
Arrive at Festival of the Lion King 4:20pm
Festival of the Lion King 5-5:30pm
RIDE BREAK 5:30-6:15pm
Dinner at Yak & Yeti Restaurant 6:15pm-7:15pm
Kali River Rapids (7:15-7:40pm)
It’s Tough To Be a Bug (7:40-8:00pm)
RIDE BREAK 8-8:30pm
Arrive at Rivers of Light at 8:30pm
Rivers of Light 9:15pm

Be careful with Na’vi River Journey 9:30-10:40am. We got in line for this ride and it was under an hour wait posted turned out to be over an 1 1/2 hours. People keep leaving the line because they had FP for Flight of Passage and the line still dragged. After riding it we decided next time we won't wait longer than 10 minutes, not worth the wait. How about moving the river ride to after Tough to Be A Bug and see Nemo after your Dinosaur FP?

Just looking at your schedule - I haven't seen the line for Primeval Whirl shorter than 30 minutes in years. Just a heads up that that might take longer, but honestly you can skip Triceratop Spin if it is. That's just a regular spin ride like Dumbo/Aladdin/etc. Not a big deal to miss it.

You're wasting time with breakfast and a sit-down dinner. DAK has the best quick service in WDW. Use them. Also, get on a ride at rope drop and you won't have to wait.

0% chance.

Your schedule is already impossibly optimistic and you're also missing the Up bird show.

Ok, everything BUT the bird show lol. I went to a bird show a couple of times at my local zoo and have had enough close encounters with birds at zoos to last a lifetime. (My childhood consisted of attending many small group zoo programs where we got to see owls and other birds up close!)

Anyways is my schedule really too optimistic? Even if I add another 30 minutes for dinner I think it would all still fit?

I was just basing the timing off of https://touringplans.com/animal-kingdom/wait-times/date/2018-05-17

Are they not accurate? Are they too optimistic? Cause I was using their website to make plans for the week and I don't want to use it if it's not close to accurate. I want to make sure I budget enough time for waiting in lines and walking across the park (I'm a pretty fast speed walker when I'm determined)

Also I know the sit-downs take a while but I get a ROL viewing ticket with the breakfast and I really want to try that Asian restaurant lol.

I just want to thank you and everyone else for posting. It means so much to me. This is all so exciting but also overwhelming and I don't know what I would do without this forum.

If your falling behind in your schedule, you may want to skip Kail River Rapids. It is extremely short and in my opinion not worth the wait. It was such a huge let down. But you do get completely soaked, if that what your looking for. There are so many other things to enjoy at AK.

I know this thread is like a year old but I just remembered I never posted a follow-up. My friend and I did everything on my list and more. We ended up doing a night safari instead but besides that we stuck to the schedule for the most part. We rode DINOSAUR, EE, and Primeval Whirl multiple times actually and rode FOP TWICE! (Once with a FP and once in stand-by). Going in May definitely helped as the lines for most rides were minimal (especially with the miserable weather the week we went). I did not go to the bird show though lol.
