Too much construction?

Think of it this way. If a recession does hit. Disney is well positioned for a 5th Gate - It can be called "Crane Kingdom". Think of the overlay possibilities.

They've been slacking for far too long; it's a sign of progress and new things. And I'd rather they hit the projects hard and heavy and get them done rather than spreading out construction over a decade. It's like ripping off a Band-Aid.

I agree with this. Disney spreads the cost over absurd amounts of time in an effort to minimize what could appear to be a quarterly loss if their projects were completed in a reasonable amount of time. It looks good to the shareholders, but really degrades the guest experience imo.

This is what happens to anything when you do nothing for 20 years but upkeep. Now they are so far behind that every land basically needs improvement at every park. It sucks for anyone taking pics especially if its you and your little princesses first time to see the castle (that's a jab at katiebug and a true emotion for anyone wanting that once in a lifetime pic). But at this point they left it stagnant so long that hopefully this is just the start.

The construction didn't bother us too much during our March trip. Or any of our previous trips. We were very thankful for the Disney buses so that we didn't have to drive through all that road construction because that did look very stressful to someone not familiar with the area. We get so into the magic once we're there that we hardly notice the cranes or scrims. The only project I'm not excited about is the gondolas. I think seeing the gondolas at some of the resorts will pull me out of the theme especially at Caribbean Beach Resort. But I'll withhold judgement until after they finish :)

You have to build and remodel to have new things. Its simple. It sucks, but unless you want a park frozen in time, you have to deal with the construction. No fun, but an inevitable thing. If its that concerning, find another vacation spot for a few years.

I could understand why some people may be irrated though. Its NOT like WDW advertises this with their admission. Sure its 110 (or whatever nowdays), but one park is a half day park currently, and two of the three others have some major construction projects going on also. Soo .. someone forks over the dough for a family of 4, expecting it to be like it was ten years ago with nothing really going on. They show up, and its a poop show of construction, at nearly every park. Yea, they will feel a bit jaded.
I can understand that too to a certain degree, but, maybe it's just the way I am, but before a trip anywhere, especially if it's somewhere I've never been before, I am meticulous in doing my research-what's there, what's available, what's not available, etc. If something changes right before I go, that would be a surprise upon arrival at my vacation destination, but pretty much everything else I am aware of before I go, if the information is available. I know some people love the spontaneity of just going and finding out when they get there, but, for example, if you booked a park ticket for DHS, not knowing the limits or volume of construction of that park right now, you would be disappointed.
