Too many hotels?

Yes there are too many hotels and too much focus on them.

The DVC bubble will pop at some point. DVCs are essentially free money to Disney bc the are a one-off revenue stream. After subtracting the building costs, Disney doesn’t have to worry about much else as fees cover maintenance, etc. Disney should know to limit this type of income, as it cannot be sustained forever, but they get used to seeing it there year after year.

Demand will go down once people continually see neglected parks and operational issues. It hasn’t happened yet, but it eventually will.

Disney just has to build a new DVC every 4 years till 2042 and then they have 6 resorts expiring to re-sell . They will have to extend some of those 6 to ladder them out for re-sale purposes. then they could just have a revolving DVC re sale every 4 years forever.

I personally wish WDW would invest in a new Moderate Hotel property. We usually stay at Port Orleans Riverside or French Quarter. We love the theming and the location and convenience to Disney Springs. However the moderate properties are no longer moderately priced. We love the Disney bubble that staying in the parks provide, so we will save more aggressively for our future trips to WDW.
It seems like WDW is concentrating on the Deluxe resorts with DVC accommodations. I realize they make a lot more money off of these, but there are many, many of us that stay in the less expensive hotels. We spend a lot of money too! It would be very exciting to have a new moderate hotel to explore and enjoy while at WDW. Since 1995, my family has been to WDW 9 times. We always stay in the park, participate in the dining plan, and purchase lots of Disney merchandise while we are there, and we stay 8 to 10 days each visit. They have made a lot of money off of us.
