Too Busy...Using a travel agent

So after planning over 20 trips to WDW, I had to cancel my reservations and have Kingdom Konsultants book my trip. I am so concerned with missing a discount and I am spread so thin that I may miss the posting on discounts.

Everything I read about them on here is so positive so I am going to roll the dice and give it a try. Tammy booked my trip tonight so I only had to go about 10 minutes without reservations LOL

Kudos to you for putting your most precious vacation in the hands of someone else after so many trips. I hope one day to be able to relinquish control and do the same. Have a wonderful vacation and enjoy that extra time you have letting someone else work their magic for you.

I honestly wish I had known there were TAs who specialized in Disney back when I was planning trips. I am not big on using any old TA. Most of them don't know Disney and don't keep up with all the Disney stuff. But I do think places like KK are worth using. You could miss something. It's easy to do! They won't.

Much better to have someone who is all over that stuff do it for you. And it's a FREE service! Free is always good.

If it sounds like I work for them, I don't. I get no money from KK and have no stake in their success. :)

Nothing wrong with having someone else help you out! Just make sure you get to slow down and enjoy the journy to the trip here! When are you going?

ArielLover, I have had Tammy book trips for me for several years and I can tell you that you are definitely in good hands. She has many times surprised me with an email of a discount that just came out and she had already applied to our trip to save us money. Whenever I hear about discounts, it is usually here on the forum from a Kingdom Konsultant rep anyway (they know before I do). Sit back and enjoy your less-stressful planning.

Thanks, I am an admitted control freak - comes with my job so letting go was a tough decision for me.

We absolutely love Kingdom Konsultants!! Dont worry about discounts, if there are any to be had, you will get them :) I cant imagine booking ANY trip (especially Disney!!) and not making a phone call to my KK agent. You are in very, very good hands! All you need to do now, is sit back, and count down the days until your first day of vacation!! Have a wonderful time!!

I've never had any good luck with TAs. Won't mention any names but anytime I ever left a message or sent an email, I always got an attitude from them like I was putting them out or never received a phone call. Really?

Tammy is awesome! I used a couple of other agencies for my first trips and never had any good luck -- either they missed discounts, or they were just rude -- but I am so glad I took the chance with KK. I have a tendency to change my trip 3 billion times before leaving, and she takes it all in stride. I HATE calling places, so it's nice to know someone else is getting it all done for me without me having to call and wait on hold for Disney :p

I highly recommend interviewing a travel agent before working with them - in other words, a free initial consultation. It gives them a chance to see if they can help you, and you a chance to see if they are the right fit for you. If they won't work with you on the phone (or face to face if they are local) from the beginning, then think twice.

Anyone just working email only with an agent from the very start takes the risk of poor service.

Being very interested in the minutia of planning my own Disney vacation, I've never once contemplated using a vendor to help out. Maybe you can convince me... What are the biggest reasons to go with a agency like this as opposed to planning myself?

Service, especially, as the OP indicated, when you don't have enough time to do it yourself.

If you have the time and inclination, by all means, do it yourself.

Most clients are either those that have never planned a Disney vacation before and are overwhelmed by the vast amount of info or they are experienced travelers that just don't have the time to do it themselves.

We also offer extra service above and beyond what dealing with Disney directly would give you:
- you always deal with the same agent, instead of a random agent in a call center (but your agent has a team to back them up, just in case)
- we monitor discounts for you and do our best to apply the discounts if they apply to your trip
- creation of an overall trip plan and itinerary

I hope that helps.
