Tony's Town Square Patio and Spectromagic Viewing

My wife and I are heading down in September and I originally made a reservation at Tony's for 6:05p so we could finish in time to catch the parade. However, a neighbor (yes, there are two Disney enthusiast on my street) recommended watching it from the patio at Tony's. I went to change my reservation to 7p and only 7:35 was available...so I booked that too. I want to cancel one to open it up for someone else. I'm concerned that a patio spot may not be available for the 7:35 reservation and then we'll miss the parade all together. Neighbor said to arrive before my time and let them know we're willing to wait for the patio...which might make 7:35 work.

Thoughts on which should I keep?

First of all, SpectroMagic is no more . The Main Street Electrical Parade is the night time parade.

What time is the parade on the night of your ADR? If it is 9 pm, I say keep the 7:35 pm, tell them you want a patio table and are willing to wait. However, if the parade is at 8 pm and the patio is not available at 7:35 pm, you will miss it (and therefore it is better to keep the 6:05 pm.)

The patio isn't necessarily the best spot to watch from...other than having a chair to sit in, you are still looking over the heads of other patrons on the patio (if you are in the back row of tables) and/or guests who are lined up at the street.

I actually was going through the same issue. It seems when I am there the parade will be at 9. My reservation is at 8:35. If I can't get a patio, I don't want the reservation, since i at least want to be outside while the parade is going on... I may leave it for now and see if anything a bit earlier opens up as I get closer to my trip in October.

That'll make it really tough to watch it then! I was rushing during lunch and couldn't remember the name of the current parade...

Anyway, the parade is at 8pm. We'll just keep the 6:05 ADR and and if it's a nice evening try to get a spot on the patio. If not not, we'll eat inside and then find a spot elsewhere.

I think I'm dumping our late ADR and going with the one 2 hours before the parade since it sounds like hit or miss viewing from the patio...
