Just booking our restaurants for our trip in January

We are trying to plan it around Wishes, Wishes ia at 8pm, so we thought we would book table for 8.30pm (ish).
we have gone to the reservation page and it will allow us to book 8.30pm & 8.45pm, but I notice that they close at 9.00pm ?
does the opening hours (5.00pm - 9.00pm) just mean what times they will accept reservations for?
surely they do not accept 8.45pm bookings but close at 9.00pm?
on the day we want to go it ie EMH so open until 01.00am, not sure if this makes a difference?
