Tony's in Magic Kingdom

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
I'll make it short and sweet though I could go in long detail why but rather not. Lol. This is one of the very few restaurants on property we did not enjoy food wise and service wise. For Italian we much rather all the other Italian restaurants on property like Mama Melrose, Via Napoli, etc.
But everyone will give you a different answer! So base your decision on if you like what is on the menu and want to try it. I say try everywhere to get your own opinion before avoiding a particular restaurant all together. ;)

Thank you. I was looking at the menu and it looks good plus it's lady and the tramp which I love but the reviews were all over the place. I would hate to spend a dinner there and have it be awful. ☺☺

You're very welcome! Unfortuntately an awful meal can happen at any restaurant on a bad day even the ones folks rave about regularly. Some rave about Tony's even. Lol.
So really base it on what you and your family want more so than everyone's opinions. I hope whatever you choose you have a wonderful meal and a wonderful trip! :D

We dined here once. I think we met the only CM/waiter who hates kids. It really was an experience where we thought he would be better off somewhere not interacting with Guests. The food was ehh. Honestly, we won't be back unless there's a huge change.

Weve dined there several times. The food wasnt the greatest, but I dont think I would say it was awful. If you are a fan of L&T and want to experience it for the character connection, go ahead. You can ask the CM at the check in desk, whether you dine there or not, for an autograph of L&T... they will give you a paper with their paw prints on it. Check the paw prints in cement on the sidewalk outside too.

We've eaten here a few times. Our experiences were basically like everyone who's already answered. The food is decent (nothing to write home about), and the service is very hit-or-miss. The last time we dined here was probably the only meal we've ever had at WDW where the server was actually rude. From the moment we sat down, it felt like she was rushing us along. She LITERALLY tried to take a half-full plate (there was half a piece of chicken parm left on it!) from my mom without asking. She'd put her fork down for like a second. :banghead: Needless to say, we complained at both the reception desk and Guest Services (we got nothing but some halfhearted apologies).

Usually I tell people to decide based on the menus, atmosphere, etc., but this is one of the few instances, IMHO, that the proof is in the pudding. I'd recommend Via Napoli for Italian, and Crystal Palace, BOG, or The Plaza Restaurant in the MK, instead.

We ate there back in 2013 in what I would call the "solarium" (giant glass room...almost like a greenhouse) and we thought it was OK. It was a smidge overpriced in our opinion, as the food was almost like a generic Italian restaurant you would go to off property. Nothing to write home about.

I agree that you can have a bad experience at any restaurant- that's true on or off Disney property. Give it a try and enjoy the Lady and the Tramp theme!

I personally haven't eaten there, but I've come across people who love it and people who say it makes Olive Garden look like fine Italian cuisine. While I can completely understand not wanting to waste vacation time or funds on something that has a bad reputation, I also know everyone is different. I have dined at places that get loads of raves just to leave disappointed, and I have been to places that others think are meh to be pleasantly surprised. The point, first hand experience is really the only way to know for sure. If you want to try it, maybe time it with a parade and wait for a table outside if they'll let you. That way your decision will be driven by more than just food. I've given a lot of average to below average places a bit of a pass if it's more than just a meal.

We've eaten at Tony's several times. The food is typical American version of Italian. However, after our last visit, won't be going anymore. How can a pasta dish that has a very predominant smell of garlic (not a bad thing in my opinion... there's no such thing as too much garlic) actually have little garlic taste? And a large puddle of olive oil in the bottom of the pasta bowl? My opinion? There are much better Italian restaurants on property.

100%. I wanted to love it but after trying several times I finally gave up. Love Mama Melrose in DHS though. If you go ask for the chef's secret 3 cheese sauce to accompany your bread. They won't always bring it but when they do it's the best part of the meal.

We ate there last Dec. My wife and I have this Lady and Tramp thing ( she's the lady and I'm the tramp ) so I wanted to take her their on this trip. Meal was very good and service was excellent, only ding the gelato was more chocolate ice cream than gelato. We had a late reservation and were not rushed to leave even though it was past closing time. Go and decide for yourself everyone and day is different.

It's my husband's favorite. Their NY Strip steak is very good. The Italian food is rather normal "American" Italian, but it is good food. We've never experienced bad service there. Just the waiting room is rather small since it now shares it with Mickey Meet and Greet. The patio room is a must! Go and enjoy!:D
