Can you believe that? I looked up the soundtrack album on Amazon and it has all of the beautiful score music, but leaves out "Great Big, Beautiful Tomorrow"!!
That makes no sense to me, as central as the song and its theme is to the movie. And, no this is not a "score" album; it is marketed as a "soundtrack" album.
I wonder if it is part of the marketing department's complete lack of understanding of this film, and more of their attempt, as I have perceived, to downplay the Disney history references, as if they would hold the film back from "modern" audiences.
The soundtrack album leaves out "it's a small world," also, which of course is featured prominently in the film. Of course, "Great Big, Beautiful Tomorow" opens the film and is prominently played to set the opening tone; but I guess that was not a good reason to put on the soundtrack album!
Makes no sense to leave out the two most identifiable songs on the film soundtrack, even ones that would have cross-promotional potential to the theme parks.
I just think it is all part the marketing department's mismanagement of this film.
I do, by the way, love the score music that was included. It reminded me, even in the film, of the EPCOT entrance plaza music in the way that it transported me. And an album of just that music would be acceptable as an "Original Motion Picture Score" album, as opposed to the "Original Motion Picture Soundtrack," as it is marketed.
Sigh.
