I have the same feeling for Disneyland in the 50's and 60's! Wish I was around when Walt was walking the parks.

I agree. I enjoy my tech these days a little more now. Would be cool to see slides from back then too!

Now, I'm not one to talk, I'm built like a football lineman, but man people were skinny in the 1970s. There was a scarce amount of people overweight let alone obese.

Feels like yesterday and also a million yrs ago the last time I remember making that turn on the Skyway there by the Speedway...

You also expressed my sentiments exactly. The Skyway was one of my favorite attractions and I miss it. I don't understand why they can't build another one—many people really enjoyed it.

I always assumed that the reason they closed the skyway was because of safety concerns. I seem to recall a story where a WDW cast member fell while cleaning??

I think it was from a book a few years ago.

I read a young man was sweeping out each car and somehow someone triggered the ride. But it may also be entirely a myth. I'm sure one of the Disney historians around here know.

Then you'll like this one as well...Remember the 70's Mickey Mouse Club..They had a Special. The Mouseketeers Go To Walt Disney World..They Go to River Country They sing about it...They Stay at the Contemporary only to Leave and camp at Fort Wilderness (Fark That! I'll stay at Contemporary thank you) . It Turns into a TMZ Episode with JoAnne Worley (The cabinet from Beauty & The Beast) with some Plot about being mad at one of the younger Mousekteers or something it's weird...And some weird Dream with Winnie The Pooh doing the Pooh Bear Polka.....Let that soak into your head....And to top it off you get to see a Young Lisa Whelchel (Blair from the Facts of Life) during her Mouseketeer Era..Enjoy!

It's not just you, I noticed it too. But then that's easy to notice in any footage from 1990 or earlier. I also noticed that in the 1970's footage of WDW you couldn't spot a single ECV. And a lot less strollers too, with most kids over 5 or 6 walking around instead of being pushed around with an iPad.

Many things have improved for us since 1975. But the average size and health of the average American isn't one of those things.

On the contrary, I think it's aged very well and is even cheesier than it was when Gerald Ford was President.

Who the heck even remembers "The Rhodes Kids"?!? And can you imagine the Safety Nazi CM's of the 2010's that would be yelling "Get Down!" at all those people dancing on their chairs and tables at Tomorrowland Terrace during The Rhodes Kids and their Early Disco Era dance number?

Did'ya? I was dressing more like Lyle Wagoner in '75, except with shorter hair and more Brylcream.

I finally went with The Dry Look around '78, and I never looked back.

I wish I'd discovered WDW back in the 70's (or at least that my parents would have taken us) - I mean, where are the guests. The parks are almost empty !!!
