My home television station, WWBT-12 here in Richmond, had a report on it this morning. They reported that the Magic Kingdom itself "remained closed today" due to the fire. I assume that they meant only the ride, or this board would have been all crazy this morning. Since that is not the case, and since the Sentinel seemed to call it a minor incident, I assume that it was.

Anyone there for it yesterday?

Good pic, by the way, of the Astro Orbiter (file photo) on the Sentinel site.

Paul

this incident was the equivalent of a desk lamp in your home burning and the fire being isloated to that singular item

There is a pic posted on another website that shows a Reedy Creek fire engine blocking the entrance to Tomorrowland in the hub area. Pretty crazy to see.

@klewald: Here's the firetruck leaving Tomorrowland at 10:22 this morning. It then turned up the path by Rapunzel's meet&greet.

Interesting way to jolt you back into reality. lol

Would have thought the truck would have been parked on the other side of the bridge.

Yep! the stitch AA is actually one of the more impressive AA's in all of WDW. But having said that it's the only part of that attraction that is worth seeing.

Okay, that and hearing the 90210 joke for the first time. But after that, absolutely pointless.

Let me preface this by saying that Stitch's Great Escape is an awful attraction. I know that's not a new opinion, but I feel it's necessary before I praise the good aspects of it.
  1. The Stitch Animatronics are excellent
  2. The Musical Score for the attraction is very strong
  3. The made up language in the pre-show area is a nice touch

I haven't been on SGE since early 2009 I think. I'm going to experience it again next time I'm there and see if it's as bad as I remember.

I was there when this happened. Very surreal! I did get several pictures of the firetruck cruising out of Tomorrowland and driving by the Castle if anyone is interested in seeing them. I figured that was something I would never see again.

The cast members would not say what was going on when asked. They just said that the fire department was "checking something out." Yeah, okay.
