Finally.. while I was just chilling I took a pic of a storm rolling towards the MK

Nothing better than getting soaked in an afternoon storm. Follwed by getting on an air conditioned bus.

Do I feel the flu coming on? :hurl:

wish more people would post daily pics.
as simple as the pics are, its a nice way to pass the time between visits.

I stayed this week and it rained every day and worked greatly to our advantage. On Monday night, we were scheduled to have a Wishes pontoon. It was raining at 8:15 pm and they cancelled our pontoon ride. We were on our way to the contemporary when they let us know so we decided instead of going back to our room lets go and see whats going on at MK. There was a massive exodus happening:animwink: Which means no waits at the rides. We walked straight on to Buzz, walked straight on to BTM, walked straight on to Splash mtn, waited about 3 min. for Pooh, walked straight into Philharmagic, rode Peter pan, and rode Dumbo. We did all of that from 8:50-10:35. They had a 10:30 Specto that night so we also watched that. As we walked out, we were going to ride space mountain, (it was an e-ride night and since the weather was bad I guess the CM felt sorry for us) but I couldn't talk my daughter into riding it. I did not tell you all of this to brag on my intelligence, because it had nothing to do with that. Just remember, the rain is our friend:)

Thanks for the recent pix. One question - in the 2nd pix, is the 'bad show' on the railings and downspouts bird droppings? If so, YUCK! :hurl:

Yep. Bird droppings. Alllll over.

I agree that it's gross, but it may be unavoidable. I have a serious bird problem at my house. I can't get rid of them. :brick: The birds pirch on my car mirrors and crap down the side of my car all the time. My point is that if the birds are like the ones by my house, it may be impossible to keep clean. I can wash my car everyday (I practically do) and the same thing will happen. Sometimes so bad that I don't even want to touch it! Disney may be aware of their obvious bird problem and hopefully they are trying to correct it.

Hmm hopefully i can address the last 2 posts in one answer. I took the picture from the top of the stairs to the outdoor balcony seating area at pinnochios. Now, that seating area had very little, if any, bird droppings on the railings or the floor. So it would seem that its not really a bird problem, but a cleanup problem.

I just had to comment:

Does anyone else find it funny that they took the time to hang those little hanging baskets around the work walls????

Does someone at WDW think it makes the wall less noticeable???

Funny, I remember the last time I was at WDW in the summer, the storms would roll in, soak you, and then you'd stand under an air conditioner vent in some que getting blasted, and then back in the rain, more cold air, and then the sun and heat would kick in. I always wound up with something I called "Disney Sniffles."

Come on...everybody poops :)

I would rather see some bird crap on the walls than have them take the SeaWorld method of controlling birds at put large spikes on everything.

The real problem is that the birds are given food, so they stick around. When I was in TL yesterday, a kid was breaking apart a piece of bread and feeding it to the birds. Now, yes, the sweepers should pick this up, but no amount of sweepers can stay on top of our piggish habits.

If the parks were cleaner, the bird problem would be less. It is both the repsonsibility of the park to keep it clean, and us to not trash it.
