Very intrigued about this mystery building. It's got water pouring out of it, so it's still somewhat ocean related.

I guess it is possible (as @McMickeyWorld suggested) that there's a Dr. Strange Sanctum there...

But I'm not really buying that this is how they'll put a Marvel ride in Tokyo. Anything is possible I guess.

Wait, so in this alternate version (thank you @ThemeParkTraveller), we see a balloon covered swing ride - probably the same as the one going to Paris - and a little house by the falls.

If the swing ride is the Up ride, then maybe that mountain is just Up-themed facade to backdrop the land. Within it might be a show building for something else. More Incredicoaster gravity building?

It would be weird to build a building that serves one story with the exterior but a different story with the interior. It's probably still another Up attraction. But, gosh, that's a lot of Up.

A slightly different concept of the Port Discovery re-imagining was also included in the press release. I assume this is an older rendition.

The older rendition (the one at the bottom) looks more detailed/ambitious but loses out on the extra water feature. I still think it would be better.

Really hope that either of these come to fruition in some capacity. Although I think that (sadly) a non-IP dark ride themed to victorian marine science is out of the question sadly

I would imagine they would want to do most of these plans by the 50th anniversary of the resort

The scope of the Adventureland project is pretty ambitious, but I don't see why the Port Discovery one couldn't be completed by 2031 for TDS's 30th anniversary—maybe even earlier since it's only replacing one ride. Surely construction will have begun by the time the Tomorrowland project is finished.

I don't know what it is lately but it feels like Disney is really putting a lot of investment into Up. I swear I see it everywhere. Animal Kingdom, Disneyland Paris (Adventureland statues and Storybookland Canal Boats), Disney Adventure World, and now Tokyo Disneyland. It's not like it's more popular than it ever was before. Is it because the sad song from the opening is a TikTok trend?

UP is just a very “splashable” IP. It has a wide variety of locations and its story is one that few people actively dislike. It usually ranks high on opinion polls and is a default “4th or 5th best movie”, nobody doesn’t like it

You can put it in an Adventureland style area because of paradise falls but it also fills a generic Disney story area like it’s going in Paris. It has a lot of characters people like getting photos with and it’s instantly recognisable

What if paradise falls is an alternative for Splash?
I would sooner expect them to retheme it to Duffy and Friends or Chip and Dale (to preserve the "animal character" theme of the whole land) then Up, especially given how far it is from Adventureland. Given the popularity of the Country Bears in Japan, that's an option too, but it would be far too powerful for this world to exist, so they'll probably do Chip and Dale, since the rumor is those two anyways. I doubt we'll get Tiana's in Tokyo because I don't believe the film is popular there, and their Splash is too far from their New Orleans area of Adventureland.
