Anybody have suggestions on what to do, or not do on a trip with a two year old? We're Disney vets, but this will be our first trip with our daughter. Just looking for some helpful hints.

104 days until Disney!:sohappy:

I'm just curious, how was the 9 month old visit?

Our son was 9 months on his first visit. It was a great trip. He really loved all of the music, swaying and clapping along to most of the rides. He also adored the characters (I think he was still too young to be intmidated by their size--his older sister who was almost three tended to hang back while he hugged every single one we met). We were surprised by how much he seemed to get out of the whole experience.

We went in October, so the heat wasn't bad. I reccommned trying for off season for the low crowds and cooler temps even more when traveling with such a little one. Also, use the baby care centers--they're great. I hope you get to go on you're trip--it's so much fun with a baby along.

We have 4 kids who we have taken to WDW many times starting as babies. We have found that babies and toddlers under two are the easiest as long as you heed baby's schedule. LESS IS MORE!!! We enjoyed WDW just as much even though we didn't do all of the rides as usual.

When our children were about 2 1/2 they started getting a little frightened by any dark rides, so we took the advice of another site and bought penlights for all of them (even our older kids). They loved them and felt like they had more control over the ride. Winnie the Pooh is a somewhat dark ride and yes some of my kids were scared of it (even my 7-year old). Why do they have to do a storm sequence anyway?

WDW isn't just about the rides. It is being there and soaking up the ambience that really makes the memories. We have done both leaving to take naps and staying in the park. Merits to both.
