Pre-Trip To Pandora and Beyond...

Well, it only took me 10 months to finish me last TR, so here is my feeble attempt to speed through a pre-trip report. I better hurry because we only have 39 DAYS!!!!!

DD 15 – Julia - My teen who hates being called a teen. She is a stressed filled child who is battling the evils of Chemistry, Japanese and Algebra this year.

Now that you know who we are... allow me to take you back to last September...

We were booking our bounce-back for September 2017 - hoping to avoid F&W and planning for the girls and I to come down 2 days early.

Hope had convinced Ross to book 1 night at AoA and the remainder at POR. The plan was that the girls and I would arrive on the 11th spend 1 night at AOA, move to POR on the 12th and then Ross would join us on the 13th. However, we would get a wrench thrown in that plan when the CM told Ross that in order to receive the bounce back for free dinning, we would have to arrive no later than September 9th! Oh and P.S. – F&W was starting in late August!!

Due to Ross’ job – there was no way he could leave before the 13th – he can’t leave his stores until after the Labor Day/ back to school rush is done. What he did next is still blowing my mind away. He booked it! So the bad news is Hope will not get to stay at AoA this time… but the unbelievable, utterly awesome news is that we are going from September 9th – September 23rd!!! Ummm… can you say 2 weeks in Disney?!!!!

We are actually leaving on the 8th because Ross is once again hysterical that we will miss our flight. Since we got a better deal on a flight out of Newark, we are booked to stay at a Park, Sleep & Fly Place close to the airport. I am trying to do my best to cancel it.

If I am correct, I think we are going to be visiting the same time as @Ciara, @lostpro9het , @Disneydreamer23, @MotherofaPrincessLover, and of course, @blgauger (who I guess technically doesn’t “visit” anymore.) So please, if anyone sees us – say hi to us!

So with 39 days to go... let pre-trip countdown begin!!

Ok my friends - I need more advice...

We have the water park and more option this year - something we have never done before and I'm a little confused. I understand that we have admission to mini-golf and the 2 water parks, but...

Do we have unlimited access or do we have a specific number of times we can use it? We are staying 14 days with a 10 day park ticket. Is WP & More good for all of those 14 days or just 10 out of the 14?

Does it work like a park hopper where you can do golf & a waterpark on the same day or do they count as separate visits?

For example:

If we go to BB & TL both in 1 day - is that considered 1 visit or 2?

If we play both sides of mini-golf, summer & winter - both right after each other, does that count as 1 visit or 2?

Or...

If we go to BB and then play golf, is that 1 visit or 2?

And then....

What exactly is there to do at ESPN? I don't get quite get it. :confused:

Your 10 day ticket gives you 10 "plus" features (not unlimited) to use over 14 days. For example, you spend 10 days in the parks. The other 4 days you can spend at a water park. Does not matter the order of your days.

Note that mini golf must be played before 4 pm. And each game counts towards a "plus" feature.

If you did Blizzard Beach followed by mini golf, that would count as two plus features.

There is nothing to do at ESPN Wide World of Sports unless you are attending an event (Little League game for example.) The "plus" would cover your admission. Not too interesting unless you know a player.

Thanks @Tuvalu - I didn't even realize they changed the name of it... It's a good thing I asked because I had us scheduled to play golf in the evenings so I guess I have to change up a few things. :confused:

26 Days to go...

So I decided to treat myself to "pre-Disney nails". I didn't want anything too fancy. I showed the guy a picture and told him to do my ring finger only in red with white dots.

As he was about to start my design, a fight began from the woman who was getting her nails done next to me. Apparently she didn't like the job that the woman was doing and she started to complain. It became very awkward and she seemed to disrupt and distract several employees including the guy doing my nails. I felt bad for him because he was trying to make her happy and said he would re-due her nails, but she kept saying that she wasn't complaining - as she kept complaining louder and louder. Finally, she left... but my nail guy was so distracted I think the design I asked for flew out of his head. I realized he wasn't doing it correctly, but I felt so bad for him, I didn't say anything so I walked out with these...

5 Days to Go...

My apologies for neglecting my pre-trip here. But it was Fair season and for anyone who is a die-hard 4-H family, that means you spend a week up at the state fair...

Julia had a busy season. She cooked for Jr. Iron Chef. (Our county came in 1st Place!) She also cooked for PINY - Produced In New York - she made Chicken Piccata and helped with judging the fine arts category.

We went to see 3 Doors Down and The Beach Boys - and Ross told me I HAD to take her to see Lynyrd skynyrd! lol

But now.... Back to Disney....


So our Magicbands arrived and everybody ripped them out of the box before I could get a picture! I wanted a picture of all of our wrists wearing them - however, we have been so crazy around here I can't pause everyone in the same room to get the shot. Hope has been wearing hers non-stop. lol Of course, she can't seem to locate her most treasured princess Magic Band from last year, I told her she has 5 days to find it.

I am trying to finish up packing. Once again, I have the task of packing 4 people into 3 bags - and they are not huge bags. Ross is flying separate and refuses to take anything else but his clothing with him. While I figure I can sneak a few things into his bag, after the sunblock and shoe deodorizer debacle of last year, I decided that was a poor choice. So I am cramming the suitcases beyond capacity.

Does anyone want to take a guess if I remembered to order a new princess wardrobe?

4 Days to Go....

So we are freaking out a bit here. Apparently, Irma missed the memo that we are arriving soon. We are all praying that something changes and it goes out to sea - not just for us, but for everyone that it will affect. I hate to see our country get hit with another blow. That being said, we rebooked our flight. We are now arriving on Friday - I was nervous for Saturday. Jet Blue rebooked us and waved all fees. Ross thinks I'm crazy going into the hurricane, but I feel safer being there and staying put rather than flying in bad weather. Funny, over the last 2 weeks, Julia, without any knowledge of Irma, has been telling me she was nervous about our flight and I've been telling her she was crazy and now all this... I think that gave me an extra push to switch flights. But Ross could be right - I may just be crazy.

So actually it is now 3 Days to go....
