To launder or not to launder...

We will be in WDW in August. We drive in on a Sunday, and leave Monday of the next week. My question is this. Should I pack enough clothes for everyone to have and 10 day supply of clothing (adding in driving days) PLUS extras in case we change due to getting wet, our 4 year old having an accident, etc. Or should we just pack 8 days worth of clothes and do laundry on one of our resort days? Part of me doesn't want to waste time doing laundry on our first disney vacation, however the other part says it would be nice to get a break from the chaos, and a nice little break from husband and kids...lol. I know ultimately I need to do what works for us, just looking for a little advice. Thanks in advance!

I do the whole extended family’s laundry once or twice on a weeklong trip. Sometimes I get up early and do it, and sometimes I do it during pool time. I don’t mind. I get to have some me time while doing everyone a favor.

I get that some people are strongly against doing laundry on vacation, but I don’t want to pack 14 complete outfits for a week, and I don’t like re-wearing sweaty clothes. Doing laundry is a two hour process that only requires my attention for like 10 minutes; I’m not out there scrubbing the clothes on a washboard.

I'm another DH that does the laundry at Disney. I usually go to the laundry room one evening after weve hit the parks and havent planned anything for that night. I take a book and read while the machines do their work. The washers and dryers are now operating by credit cards. We always bring our own laundry soap with us... DW separates the clothes and puts in the proper amount of soap because I'm going to mess it up if I do it. Then she has the couple of hours alone to enjoy herself. She usually refolds the clothes when I return to the room because... I mess that up too.

My vote is take whatever amount between 8 days worth and just enough fits easily in your bags. Then plan to do a limited amount of laundry midway just to ensure extras. This is what we normally do on all our trips. It has really cut down on the overpacking.

I always do laundry at least a couple of times. I usually stay for about 2 weeks and I don't have that many clothes. Plus I don't want to drag a whole closet with me. It is really not that bad. I do what others do and make it pool time. The washers are usually right by the pool so it is easy to do your laundry while lounging around.

We always do at least one load during our 2 week stay - mainly so we don't have to fly home with 2 cases of dirty clothing with our purchases. This year we
Have 3 weeks in the bubble and take the laundry time as chill out time by the pool. Even better now there is the laundryveiw app!

My 2 cents...
On all my Disney vacations I pack enough clothes for 4 days. On the 3rd evening after we are back at the hotel I wash clothes to take me through another 3 days. Then I was clothes the night before or morning of before leaving! Why come home and be faced with doing laundry!?
