To do On-Line Check-In or Not? That is the question ...

Okay, I know that the online check-in service can greatly reduce the amount of time that you are in line when you get to the resort. But, I made a request with Disney when I booked our vacation at Coronado Springs to get one of the updated rooms.

Do I need to wait & check-in at the resort to have the best chance at my request being honored or should I go ahead & do online check-in & then make the request when I get there anyway?

Has anyone done this? :brick:

It's not as if you are going to walk into the hotel and see your check-in packet lying on a self-serve table. You will still need to check in with a CM. The only difference is that you don't have to go through the check-in process since it's already been done.

We are arriving Friday night and I did my online check in a couple of days ago. To be honest, it didn't seem like I was doing much more than verifying the other guests in our room and what credit card I wanted to use. So I'll be curious to see if it makes things go more quickly when we check-in.

FrogFrog, I'm certain there was a place to include any special requests/extra information so you could still do the online check-in.

I was curious about this as well on my last trip in April/May, and I decided against online check in. Im sure either way, as long as you have called and put the request on your reservation that it will be honored to the best of their abilities. Just so you know, almost all the rooms are done in CSR, I think they may actually ALL be done. So I would actually put in a request for a section if you have a preference for that! Over all I dont believe on line check in will make your chances any better or worse. We didnt do on-line check in and we still got what we requested!

We did the online check in and I think it was much faster. Last year, it seemed to take forever to wait in line and then wait for them to gather our info. When we got there Sat, we got a folder with all the info and a parking pass. It was very fast.

I have used online checkin and it was indeed very fast. If you want one of the refurbed room I wouldnt use online checkin. If you checkin traditionally you can again make note of your request and see where your location, with online checkin your welcome packet is waiting in a stack with everything already determined. If you checkin traditionally it will give you another oppurtunity to ensure you get the room you want. Good Luck with the new rooms they should be great.
