To anyone that has been to Disneyland

I haven't gotten into full blown planning phase yet, but two quick questions for anyone that has been there before,
1) out of the million airports in the area of DL, which is the best to fly in to? Basically, is there one that's better for traffic wise (busses, taxis, etc.) Or is one cheaper than the rest?
And 2) of all the resorts and "good neighbor" resorts which is the best? Again value wise. I just need a place to sleep that isn't a too far away from the parks.

Thanks anyone and everyone, and hopefully if all goes to plan I can put a new countdown up sooner rather than later. :)

You might want to post this in the Disneyland forum. There are some real experts there. They've helped me greatly in planning our first trip to Disneyland this coming May.

John Wayne Airport Is Hands Down The Best Airport To Fly Into (15 min From Disney). There Is A Carpool Lane From The Airport (Runs Hwy 405 - Hwy 55 - Hwy 5 - Disney Way) All The Way To The Disney Property (Never Have To Get Into The Regular Traffic). As Far As A Hotel - The Park Vue Inn Is The Closest Hotel To Disney Without Being On Property. Walk Out Of Your Room Towards The Lobby (Crossing Light Right There) And Cross The Street Into The Main Entrance To Disneyland (Where All The Other Hotels Shuttles Drop Off Their Guests). Best Part, Half The Price Of The Disney Hotels, Very Clean And Comfortable, FREE Parking For Guests, Microwave And Fridge In Every Room, With A Free Breakfast To Die For. Book Far Enough Out To Get The Best Rates (I Usually Do At Least 6mo To A Year).

Thanks for this thread. I am now looking up the hotels mentioned here and strongly considering a trip to Disneyland. We have not been there before, but I found airline tics for 279 rt, so really might be an option for late march. We may just do this instead of WDW this year....hmmmm. I already bought tickets for WDW from undercover tourist, but can save them for another time.

If you are a AAA member you can get discount Disneyland tickets at the Euclid office (a few miles from Disneyland off the I-5. Must go into the office though, not sold online. Also, the military, some large corporations, and some union or government workers get discount tickets through other means. Check with your employer or credit union for more information.
