TLS animals during rehab?

My wife posed the question to me last night "What happens to the various fish and mammals at TLS and other attractions when they are rehabbed or retired?"

I thought it was a good question so I thought I would post it here.

I said that during rehabs that (of course) the animals are cared for as they would be during normal operating situations, but I could not think of an attraction that had been retired with live animals.

Anyway, discuss away!

My guess is that most of the attraction will remain the same with very little going on in terms of extensive remodeling. I imagine the fish will remain there and will be protected from stress that will probably happen with a rehab.

You'll be seeing a lot more offerings of fishsticks at counterservice restaurants in the parks.

Look for Mahi Mahi to be added in all of the buffets too.

I understand that when Mike Eisner leaves, they're going to have a big CM get together and send off for him including an all you can eat fish fry.

That would be my guess also, but I have never really heard what measures are taken to protect them.

Thats funny!! I love Mahi Mahi!

Seriously though, she (my wife) is curious/concerned enough to ask me to post this, so any (real) insight would be helpful.

Thanks again:wave:

The aquarium in the Living Seas is the largest manmade sea environment in the world. It was designed from the start so that it can be sectioned off. All the animals can be held in other sections while another area of the aquarium is drained and repaired as required.

Thanks Woody13.

Now for the second part of the question, anyone know or care to speculate about animals "repositioned" during or after a rehab/closure?
