TIW- Teppan Edo

I saw on another site that Teppan Edo is not accepting TIW. As I am deciding whether or not to purchase, and have an ADR there, I am wondering if anyone can confirm or deny this fact? I know sometimes TS places are not on the list at the start of a year, but jump on board as the year goes on.

The last time I checked they were not on the list and to my knowledge never have been. From what has been reported on the forums they will take it on a rather sporadic basis. For budgeting reasons I would count them as a no.

They Denied my TIW last year. They did take my AP discount (If I recall correctly)

I do remember getting some sort of discount, but it was not as good as the TIW - I assume it was for my AP.

My opinion - it is no different than any other Teppan place. If you have never been to one, or you have some great attraction to Teppan dining, then go. If not, I didn't think it was so great. Good, but not great. Limited sushi offerings and for when I went, lukewarm chef showman (well in this case woman) ship.

I would agree. In the vast world of Teppen style restaurants Teppen Edo does not even show up as a blip on the radar. Kobe, located about 5 minutes from DTD, is far better and less expensive to boot.

Ate at Teppan Edo for the first time last month. No, they did not take TIW. I am now frustrated at myself for not even asking if they would give a discount for having the AP. I didn't even think of it, so we paid full price for our meal -- and it was pricey, but also tasty.

I would have liked to cancel and go to Bistro, but had already promised my kids we would go before I knew they didn't take TIW, and they were excited, so we went ahead. I doubt we'll do it again.

Generally, I agree with what phonedave and Master Yoda said -- it's not as good as other teppan places. However, I did feel it was probably the healthiest Teppan I'd ever had. They did not go hog-wild on the butter, soy sauce, salt, etc. like others do. Also, the rice was steamed rather than fried.

So, the only recommendation I could give would be if you wanted to have the teppan experience, without so much high-fat, high-calorie food, and you don't mind paying a premium for it.

Thanks everyone.

We have been twice before. When I asked each member of the fam to pick one sit down place, it was picked - twice. So off we go. Personally, I really like what must be called "Teppan" dinning. And this place's food is as good or better than our best local place(my favorite local est.), and the atmosphere/themeing is far better. So I am not terribly dissappointed; however, I prefer new experiences. Hence, we will be visiting Coral Reef for the first time ever. Atmosphere and themeing are important to me in making Disney ADR's, and these two seem to deliver.

Ate there last week. They do not accept TiW.

Still an excellent meal, despite also not thinking of asking for an AP discount.

Just to clarify (maybe)

I have the 'official' TIW list (as official as a moving target can be, I picked this one up two weeks ago)

Teppan Edo is NOT on the list, however Tokyo Dining IS on the list.

Maybe that is where the confusion is coming from.
