You asked for it:
Inside the Parks

a) Get Pal Mickey

b) For attractions always Go to the line on the left.

c) Monorail - Ask to sit in front, purple seat in waiting area.

d) Hidden Stuff

i) President Clinton is the only president to wear a Mickey Mouse Tie, in the Hall Of Presidents

ii) Mosaic mural in the fourth-floor lobby of Disney's Contemporary Resort was created in 1971 with 1,800 one- square-foot tiles and took 18 months to construct. Look closely: there's a five-legged goat facing the monorail track.

iii) Muppet Vision 3-D - look for the key under the doormat when entering the theater.

iv) Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! - outside of the theater there is a well. Pull on the rope that's dropped inside of the well and listen.

v) The musical staff notes across the registration desk at Disney's Port Orleans Resort-French Quarter spell out the first verse of "When the Saints Go Marching In."

vi) Someone mentioned the green jello in Muppet Vision 3-D, but one of the great secrets, cause everyone rushes by to get to where they are going, are the walls outside that have graffitti all over them. Stop and read some of it sometime.

vii) The some of the big points in Buzz are found leaving the first room. Turn around and shoot the back of the Orange robots arm or the back of the buzz saw. 100,000 points. The car turns automatically away form these so turn back score big!

viii) Look up on the wall in the waiting room for Cinderella's Royal Table at the base of the Castle...You mentioned about the mice.

ix) paw prints in the cement of Lady and Tramp outside of Tony's Town Tavern

x) the Gossip Phone in (i think) the second store on the left on Main Street in MK. It's a kitchen ware store and there is an old fashioned phone on the back wall. Pick it up and listen to the people talking on it.

xi) In Liberty Square, there is a gate around a door -- it guards a marble slab that used to be threshold or a step or something like that at Monticello. Jefferson actually walked on it long ago.

xii) the opening of the MK and are walking down MS, if you listen you will here welcoming speech welcoming everyone to the MK

xiii) snow plow thing in Epcot with the coke thing on it or something. If you see it.. I highly recommend going in there. There is thins pathway at first that is air conditioned to the extreme, and then you go into this gift shop type place, and they have coke machines set up where you can sample different kinds of coke products from around the world.

xiv) Star Tours where the robot is repairing the damaged droids. He is engaging enough, but if you pay close attention to the droid junk heap behind him, you might notice a few dismembered droids occasionally twitch a foot or move an arm.

xv) HM Look at the chair in front of the endless hall with the "floating candelabra Here are a few of many.

xvi) TOT the wall directory with the letters that have fallen off and they spell out EVIL TOWER U R DOOMED!

xvii) POC

(1) Right before you load the boat coming down the ramp, there is a tunnel off to your right. If you stop by it and listen you can hear the pirates in there digging and talking.

(2) Also, right before you take off in your boat if you look to the right you can see the large sailing ship in the distance.

Also, several times a day at Cinderella's Carousel they do a "Sword in the Stone" ceremony where they pick a child as "temporary ruler of the realm." The times are usually posted by the stone. No guarantee your child will be picked,it is nice little extra.

All of these were culled from various books and websites (including WDWMAGIC).

Mine, are few, but significant:

1. Get to a different park opening each day. Why? They all have special opening ceremonies which are fun and put you in the mood. Plus, you'll get to your first few rides/attractions before things get two crowded. Try to head to the most popular attraction you plan on doing first.

2. Use fastpass! Get a fastpass for something that is very popular and long-lined, and go on something else while you wait for your fastpass time. Always get a fastpass before snacking or eating. Don't wait until after.

3. Leave the park when you are tired, or it becomes overcrowded. Go to your resort, pool, relax, etc.

4. Eat dinner and go to another park or return to the same park.

5. See fireworks and parades when you can. They are special. Sometimes though, its better to skip and get a few rides in during this time.

6. A character meal would be a must. For boys, I'd suggest Liberty Tree Tavern in MK or Chef Mickeys at the Contemporary Resort.

7. Ride the monorail.

8. Favorite rides for my girls who are the same age as yours: MK= Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Mickey's Philharmagic, Dumbo, Pirates of the Carribean; EPCOT= Test Track, Soarin'; Animal Kingdom= Kilamajaro Safaris, Its Tough to be a Bug, Kali River Rapids; MGM= Tower of Terror, Star Tours, Great American Movie Ride.

9. Favorite eating places: Ohana Dinner, Chef Mickey's Character Breakfast, Hollywood and Vine Dinner Buffett, Whispering Canyon, Biergarten.

10. Plan, then relax and have fun. Have a "flexible schedule". That means, plan to do what is important to each of you, but be flexible timewise. One in your party may be all gung ho about going on something now, but now isn't the right time. Happens all the time.

1. Every attraction they are tall enough to get on.
2. Every attraction that is open that they meet the qualification of number 1 above.
3. Anything they want to do.
4. Everything you can afford to do.
5. In a nutshell, do it all!!!!!

1) Be prepared for the fact that they may like the hotel swimming pool the best.

2) Be sure to leave plenty of time for the "playgrounds" - the Boneyard at AK, Honey I Shrunk the Kids at MGM, and Tom Sawyer Island at MK. These are great great places for you to rest an hour with a book while they run off some energy.

3) Give them a copy of Unofficial Guidebook and let each pick their top 3 or 4 things - and you pick yours too. Then be SURE to do those. If you can't do it all, be sure to hit the important things.

4) You can do more rides if you get there before the parks officially open and have a plan (see Guidebook).

6) Encourage them to talk to (and thank often) cast members

7) Have an advance plan for dealing with wanting everything they see. This would be an interesting thread all on its own.

8) Another good place to rest is in the old theater that shows old Disney cartoons in MK. This is on Main Street in the Camera Center. Go in there an the theater is down the hall or in back (it's been a while).

9) Remember that the most important thing is to enjoy the time with your family - DisneyWorld will be here a long time and you can come back again, but you will never be able to come back to this time in your family's life again. Don't trade one for the other.

Awesome Job there DisneyMarg!!!!!!!!!!!! Especially #9. I cant tell you how often I have seen hot, tired, crying kids being dragged on rides because the parent paid all this money and the kid is going to have a good time!!!!!!!! Well needless to say, the kid did NOT have a good time, The parent wasnt enjoying it and I wasnt any too thrilled either!!! Your children need to rest and recoup every once in a while. Disney is a big place with a lot of walking *(Far more than your normally do) and a lot of things to see & do. Sometimes to a child this becomes a bit overwhelming!! Take things at a more relaxed pace, listen to your child and as Marg said dont trade one for the other!! Belle
