I am taking a friend with me on ym trip in March, and the only time he's ever been to WDW was when he was about 2 so he doesn't remember anything. I want his first day we are there to be GREAT. I am thinking to start off at the Magic Kingdom since that has the most Disney magic and that's where it all started. Then in the evening, I want to go to EPCOT and then finish the night off with IllumiNations. Thanks for any other tips anyone gives me.

Hey!
I was in this same situation last March over Spring Break! Ok, here is what to do! First, take him to Magic Kingdom , then MGM Studios , and top it off with Illuminations at night! That is what I did, and my buddy loved it! The next day, wake up to the Animal Kingdom and eat breakfast at Rain Forest Cafe', in the late after noon take him to Typhoon Lagoon, and finish the night off at Magic Kingdom with the parades and the Haunted Mansion. Also, do the e-ticket thing if they still have it. Good Luck! ºoº

Don't go to Rainforest Cafe if you live near one. The place consistently gets mixed reviews. Its detractors say it is too loud (may not be a problem for college students) and overpriced (definitely a problem). You'll get better jungle animatronic animals at the Jungle Cruise.
For breakfast at AK, I'd do Breakfastasaurus--you get characters!!

Sounds exactly like what I would do!
I agree with the Rainforest advice- I happen to like it but since we have several in the Chicago area I don't bother to go in WDW.
Since you know you'll be heading over to Epcot, why not plan a World Showcase dinner there? Mmmmm, I am getting hungry just thinking about it :slurp:

since i *just* got back from a trip with a couple friends who'd never been i can give you some ideas.
do the parks in order that they opened at WDW: MK first, then epcot, disney-MGM, and AK last.
we started in MGM first and everything else seemed like a let down because the attractions were a lot more "cool" at MGM and AK then some of the "oldies but goodies" at MK and epcot. if you've never grown up with the classics they seem pretty dated...at least that's the impression i got from the people i went with.
make sure you get a meal in the castle...that was a highlight on our trip.
avoid resturants that don't take priority seating...having to wait for food was a big turn off on our trip.
if i think of anything else, i'll be back!

I am not a big person for jumping parks on the first day but if the park closes early go for it if not....watch Spectro and the Fireworks. If it does close early, spend the day in MK and enjoy try not to do everything cause you will get burnt out and so will he/she. Really one of the best things to do is find out what they want to do. I do like the idea of going to WS for dinner......Rose and Crown anyone?????? Get a good seat and enjoy Illuminations from there. I have always been one for a good CB in the morning and a late dinner at PI.
As far as the Rainforest goes....I ate at the one outside AK and I didn't care for it at all. It is fair food but the animals are not even close to JC and it does get loud ever few minutes. If you are looking for a good non-disney place to eat I always go for Planet Hollywood or Wolfgang Pucks.

I'd do MK first, followed by an evening at Epcot with dinner at one of the restuarants in world showcase (I'm partial to Rose and Crown) and Illuminations. This could be followed up by a nice walk on the Boardwalk and some time in Jellyrolls to see the dueling pianos or check out ESPNzone if you're sports fans.
