Tips for a 19 year old

Hey everyone. I'm making my 10th trip home in August with the family. This will be my third or fourth trip where I've been able to go off on my own, but this time I want to get some ideas to enhance this experience. I know my way around the World like it's nothing, so that's no trouble, plus I'm staying at the Boardwalk which is pretty convenient as far as getting around. I just wanted some tips on how to enjoy myself more while being alone. Any help is greatly appreciated.

besides bringing a friend, try talking to the CMs, and don't rush at all, imho alone is best at WDW for a while, although it is nice to hang with your family for a while.

As an "alone in WDW" expert myself, my best advice is to use the heck out of the Single Rider Lines at Test Track and Mission Space when you are at Epcot.

I also like to vary from trying to get as many rides in as possible some nights and others I like to take special note of the little things that we usually miss while our group is together (Examples: The shops, walking in the resturants to use the restrooms just so you can get a good look at them without looking like a tourist :), sit on a park bench and take in the park atmosphere, etc.)

I usually get my alone time at night and I like to see certain things at night because it is a totally different experience then (Ex: Big Thunder, Splash Mtn, Kali River Rapids, Tree of Life, Test Track). I also just enjoy walking around the parks at night as well.

I've found that at the MK when Spectro and Wishes are going on, it is a fantastic time to ride the big rides. And if you can time it right, riding Big Thunder while Wishes is going on is great.

Hope that helps. I might think of some more things later.

well i turn 19 in december, but i can tell you soem stuff from this trip that i just got off of.

Defintily befriend cast members, they are extremely interesting. On Sunday night 7/17, I was in MGM and did the animation academy. I felt the animator people would be a bunch of talentless hacks since disney closed the animation division there...and they would be all corprorate...not at all...I enjoyed myself so much, that after fantasmic and during EMH i went back to the animation pavilion for an hour and spoke to two of the artists for 30 minutes each...they are great, have tons of respect for disney animation, lots of thoughts of the company etc. and they can draw alright too...

just relax...since uour not dealing with a group...u can do just about anything at your own pace...enjoy the parks, look for little details you you normally wouldnt notice....

from my past trip my favorite things were the power rangers meet and greet, one mans dream and the animation academy artist talk time....wow MGM has come up in the rankings...

I'm turning 19 while I'm on the trip (which is in one day)...and I have just as much fun with my family..if not more than when I'm by myself. But I agree with taking advantage of single rider lines. I did it for Splash Mt. before and it was lots of fun..

and shopping alone was a plus! = )

Im 19, and I just returned about a month ago from WDW. I think I am at the age where I reall start to slow down and enjoy EVERYTHING. For example, last year I rode SM 16 times, and this time I only rode it 3 times, and I was still happy. So would have to agree with the other posts and say do at your own pace and dont rush everything. In addition to talking to CMs, talk to other guests while waiting in line, that is always fun too.

definitely , i made many random guest friends during the day, and even gave them some behind the scenes spoilage on some future WDW happenings the "normal folk" wouldnt know about....

Summit plummit line
"what is that big thing being built?"
me butting in..."Thats actually a mountain..."
"ohh is it a new park or part of animal kingdom...?"
"yes it;'s part of animal kingdom...it called expedition everest..."so on and so forth....

it was lots of fun.

I went with my girlfriend last year for my 21st b-day. She tires out early so i had little alone time myself. I really liked the freedom, just go do anything! Its really wierd to be there alone, a wholenother experiance. Follow all the urges you get, I explored Tom Sayer Island top to bottom one morning. It was great, I felt like i was 12 again. And remember, your family is not around, your firends are not around, and you are never gonna see any of these people ever again. Be a kid and spoil yourself!
