Hi everyone, I am planning a Disneyland vacation for next September for the family and their wish is to stay at a Disneyland Hotel. Prices on the official site for these are pretty high! Are there any tips and or tricks for some good deals? At other Disney resorts around the world they're a bit easier to find. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Highly recommend looking into Disney gift card deals. It can take time to acquire a lot at a discount but if you're patient and persistent can save 10-15% off your vacation.

DL Hotel deals are hard to come by since there are only three hotels and only so many rooms available, unfortunately.

I also recommend gift cards, since DL doesn't usually discount their hotels and September is the start of the busy season. Also check out Costco for travel deals, they sometimes have good deals on DL packages with hotels.

I personally recommend NOT staying at a Disney owned hotel at the Disneyland Resort.
They are nice and all, but insanely expensive and have NONE of the benefits WDW regulars may expect….or at least, what WDW benefits remain these days.

There are far better hotels in the immediate area that will give you better ‘bang for your buck’.
Save your money to spend in the Parks for a nice meal or splurge on a expereince.
But if staying at one of the Disney owned hotels is something you really want to do, by all means do it.
Just know they are not all that and a bag of chips…as the hip kids say.

We stayed off site at the Residence Inn Garden Grove which was nice, however I was really taken aback by all the homeless people and junkies literally right outside the Disneyland Resort gates. After many visits to Disney World and Disneyland Paris which are both within their own bubbles in the middle of nowhere, this kinda shocked and saddened me a little, but I guess this is the downside of Disneyland being located right in the centre of a city, you get the social issues that come with that.
