Oh blimey, I didn’t know there was appetisers too. Lol

And that’s for every table service, not just signature?

And I’m guessing you have to have all 3 courses in one go to count as one credit. You can’t just have main and dessert but save the appetiser for another restaurant on a different day?
Correct.
And if you do not drink alcohol they have some really good non-alcoholic specialty drinks that you can order at most restaurants.

To be fair then, I really can’t argue at all the food I’m getting then. It was the standard ‘Free’ DDP and paid £700 to upgrade to the Deluxe for 2 adults and 1 child.

I’m not a massive alcohol drinker but I am going to fully make the most of it. I do like my cider and I’ve never had any of the speciality drinks like Mimosas

There were "virgin" versions of many of the drinks. Ask your server and he or she can tell you what is available.

Totally correct. It does afford you to "splurge" and not look at the prices of apps and entrees as you probably normally would if not on the plan. Which is nice. You definitely "Eat like a king" on the deluxe plan. lol

I’m guessing though that there are some dishes in some restaurants that are excluded from the Dinning plan?

While there are a few restrictions on the Dining Plan I don't remember that there were many restrictions on the Deluxe Dining Plan when were there last March other than an over $100 steak dinner at one of the signatures. The DDP covers a lot more than the DP.

Hi everyone,

looking for some tips and advice really. We were booked for AKL next year on the free standard DDP. My husband decided to surprise me this week by upgrading it to the Deluxe plan as he managed to get it cheaper than the upgrade price Disney quoted via our travel agent.

Im fine with it as price wise, it was reasonable but when looking at my plans i am trying to figure out how to maximise it.

Breakfasts and Dinners are pretty much sorted and makes up a lot of these Table Service Credits:

Breakfast:
Boma
1900 Park Fair
Tusker House
Crystal Palace
Garden Grill

Lunch:
Yak & Yeti
Spitsville Diner

Dinner:
Hoop De Du Review
Sanna
The Wave
Sci-Fi Diner
Le Cellier
Hollywood Brown Derby
California Grill
Chef Mickeys
Be Our Guest
Toledo

Quite a few of these are 2 Credits and we've never been to 90% of these before, so I'm pleased we have the opportunity to finally see them

Where i am struggling is lunch.....

Table service Credits can't be broken into multiple Quick Service Credits can they? just a 1 for 1 use?

What are some good lunch options that will make good use of a Table service credit?
If you dont mind how much is the rough upgrade price as my parents would prefer the more inclusive concept and we are currently on the standard plan too for 2 weeks next May

You can't save the course for another meal, but there are likely ways around eating all of the courses if you're really not hungry (and trust me, there will be times when you absolutely cannot eat any more!) You might be able to just to your server you don't want it, ask them to wrap it up to go, or if you're feeling generous you might be able to send a course to another table with the same amount of people. That last one probably depends a lot on your server though.
Edit- if I recall you can also switch out your dessert for a salad or fruit bowl at most restaurants.

Just want to add.
We just did the deluxe is Sept and sometimes just couldnt manage a dessert, so, we asked if we could swap this for a coffee and everywhere we asked said it was OK.
Just in case you cant find any more space :)

Agreed. I have done that also, many times. :)

It's very rare. You'll usually only see it for entrees/appetizers/desserts intended for two people.
Yes. That would be the only case. Like I know both the boathouse, and yachtsman steakhouse both have a steak for "2 people" that wouldn't be included in the DDP. You may be able to use 2 of the parties credits though. I'm not sure. Although I have been successful most times getting an appetizer for "2" for just my appetizer credit.

Wife and I have gotten Deluxe dining plan every time and we learn something new each time and my tips would be A don't worry about the meal price of use of credit , its the whole picture we always came out ahead . and tip #2 think of traveling to all these Restaurants that can be very time consuming. tip #3 spread out the credits as much as you can it is a ton of food , we always tried to skip either breakfast or launch or if we did 3 credits in one day we tried to plan to pick the more lighter restaurants like sushi for lunch .

If you tell the server that you want to make that your apps, they will oblige
Maybe. This might be one of those things where it depends how willing servers are to bend the rules, or where it's up to the restaurant to decide if it's allowed. I know whenever we went to a restaurant with a "for 2" menu item it was pointed out to us and the server informed us we wouldn't be able to order it with our credits. If this is something OP needs to know before making an ADR, it always possible to call the restaurant and ask what their policy is.

Yeah it’s not the end of the world but going to Sanna, most will probably want to have the bread service.
