How many times has this thread been started?

But yet again, TK will be opening this Sunday, March 14th, from 10am to 9pm, for the spring break season. How many days?? Not to sure yet. My guess would be 2 weeks, then closed for a week, then open for two more. (Easter)

Very good news, my friend Tyler is going down to WDW next week for Spring Break. He's going down with his family in a car this Friday. He hasn't been since 1996 so this will be especially fun for him.

Will they ever replace Timekeeper...or atleast keep it open for more than a couple of weeks...such a waste of space when a ride is closed down like that...:brick:

I certainly hope it's going to still be open on my early June trip. I know that pretty soon it will be replaced by a character attraction  , so I hope to see it all I can now.

Heh, I noticed they had the ol' circular electronic sign out front up and running yesterday. I thought to myself at the time that Timekeeper must be opening soon. They did the same thing the last time it was about to open. All it said was "Welcome to Tomorrowland."

Why not run that all the time? I know this argument is tired, but there is so little cost in running it.

My only complaint is having to stand for it. I wish there could be barstools or something.

I believe that the fate of the circlevision film at Disneyland CA is now an un-used space with no replacement (other than a informative display on space exploration in what used to be the lobby/pre-show area.)

More and more theme parks are creating 3D attractions, which is great and all, but that just strengthens how unique circlevision really is. If only they could "jazz up" the experience with a large simulation platform (like the Las Vegas attractions) to breath new life into what has become a Disney staple attraction. I don't see circlevision being used in other competing parks.

UM, TK was a great idea, it just didnt translate well.

And i dont mean to seem PC or anythign like that, but every time i see the sequence with teh twin towers in them... Oh boy....

It takes two (towers)

What's wrong with seeing the World Trade Center in the Timekeeper film? If there was a problem with it, it would have been shut down on 9/11 never to open again (without editing.)

Just think of how unique that makes the Timekeeper film. Where else in the world is the WTC documented in 360* film format?

Cameron Crowe made a good point in the Vanilla Sky director's commentary about the whole situation. Vanilly sky was created pre 9/11, but released (on DVD) afterwards. Although the film's climactic scene that shows the Manhattan skyline was digitally created, Crowe decided to leave the WTC in the film. He says something along the lines of - other people already took that away from us, and he wasn't going to do the same.

I agree.

... Eh, it just brings back some horrid memories for myself. I remember thinking 'so, this is how the world ends' ...... Thankfully none of my friends at the pentagon were hurt.

Probably the worst day of my life.
I really dont want that kind of a reminder when im at WDW.

Personally, I`d be more upset if they were removed form the film. Knowing they were there and someone removed them. I do get emmotional when I see them in film, but I don`t want to forget. Same with IASW in DLP - the USA scene has them rising up behind the backdrop.

Yeah, I think cutting the scene sort of denies it ever happened. Buck up, folks... it did. And forgetting it is one of the owrst things people can do.

Either don't ride it. Or avoid it.

Problem Solved.

I'd feel cheated if they were deleted. Considering the only place you may find them are on the History Channel now.. :(

The circlevision theater at DL is being made into Buzz Lightyear. I agree too though that I'd rather have a good circlevision attraction than another 3D movie.

Timekeeper happened to be open during my visit last year - even though I'd seen it many times, I had forgotten how much I liked it! Most enjoyable. Hope it's open this July.
