Hi to all my fellow europeans. How do you get over jet lag.I am based in England and have now gone over 15 times and it still hits me hard. :snore: I have put out this E-Mail to find out how all of you get over it.I am thinking this time the last week before i go i am going to push myself to stay up extra late to try and get me on eastern time (American) to try and help me.

Any thoughts.

Ummmmmmmmm truth be told i dont usually find it a problem on the way out as myself and my whole party are so excited at arriving but we are usually awake real early the first morning there 5am ish but as the weather is so warm its not a problem.

Coming home different story, as we usually arrive early morning the day after departing i try to stay up until a normal time that i would goto bed 10pm maybe, that usually works for us.

I did read somewhere that its not down to the amount you sleep but something to do with the light that the brain recieves and at what time, this is probably completely wrong and im sure somebody who actually knows what they are talking about on here will be able to help you.......sorry for being no help what so ever :(

Travelling west to the USA you are only experiencing what could be described as a late night - ie you stay up late - the equivalent of 5 extra hours. Jet Lag occurs when you travel east (ie return home) and have to cope with losing that 5 hours again and are deprived of sleep.
Personally, it doesn't affect me. I work night shifts (on a rota) and am very used to surviving on only a few hours sleep when I come off nights and have to get back into a day light mode again.

It`s the early mornings that get me - checking in at silly o clock for a 10.30 flight at Manchester. That makes the first day a looooong day - though the adrenaline really hides the fact that by the time you`ve seen your choice of night time show, left the park and got back to your lodgings it`s roughly been a 22 hour day. Sleep like a winner, then up again. You really need a holiday after the holiday :D

Coming home I don`t mind - I`d rather feel ugh in my own bed than in WDW. Plus you get that great sunrise, since the majority of MCO to MAN flights are through the night.... "Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Manchester where the time is 6.30 am and the temperature is nothing like you`ve been used to for the past few weeks"
