Time to start packing! Am I going crazy?

This time next week, we'll be eating dinner with friends who are local to Orlando. We'll be spending the night with them that night so that we can get up and be refreshed before grabbing lunch and heading to the Pop to check in. Then the real fun begins! :)

I find myself feeling like I need to go ahead and start packing lol. I feel like I'm going to forget something: our magic bands, a sling bag or two, ponchos, protein bars, extra sunblock... yes, I know that there is very little we can't get just outside of the World if we need it when we get down there, but still... so, I'm feeling the urge to drag out that suitcase and start putting things in it now... at least things that I know I won't need between now and when we leave.

And, um, DH might get a tad annoyed when he learns that I'm thinking I may need our big suitcase. Good thing that sucker is on wheels, because this girl can't decide what to take to wear each day.

So, how far out do you start packing for a trip to WDW?

Go ahead... laugh at me. :p

Eek, I hope the rest helped your husband! My son has been sick with a fever, then a cold, since Monday. I just keep thinking thank God it was this week and not last week. Would have been miserable.

Your list doesn't look so bad! It's a lot, but not a lot of unnecessary stuff. Best advice I can give is pack like with like. Ziplocs are your BFF. All the in-shower toiletries in one bag, all the after-shower stuff in another, all the park stuff together, etc.

If it's not already on your list, bring Ziplocs into the parks with you. I used them constantly to bag up snacks/CS we couldn't finish and to protect our phones on rides and in rain. Oh, and a small towel to wipe down...anything wet. These were honestly the ONLY things I ever used from my park bag, and I used the heck out of them.

Ha, I look forward to the story of Damnit the Horse!

Lol :)

I didn't even think about the baggies! Should have been obvious for me since I may need to eat my goodies in stages lol. Adding that to the list now.

Woohoo! So excited for you! I've been following along with your planning and it sounds like you will have an amazing time!
Please, if you can do a trip report!

I always take our large suitcase which is about 3/4 of my size! But luckily my DFi really loves me and drags it around for me!:inlove:
Oh and looking at your list.. you sound like me! I think I pack 20 outfits for a week at Disney LOL. Girls gotta have options!:D

For me, making and following a good, tried-and-true packing list is what keeps me sane -- even happy! -- about packing.

We start packing no more than 24 hours before we leave, but I begin "gathering the things that need to be packed" a week or so ahead of time. I get out the luggage and packing cubes and make sure everything is aired-out and in good shape. I make sure prescriptions have been refilled. I line up some small laundry baskets in my bedroom -- one for each family member -- and start collecting their clothes for the trip. Downstairs, I have a box to keep track of the miscellaneous items (hand sanitizing wipes, autograph books, snacks, phone chargers, camera, etc.). I keep copies of the master packing list handy, so I can keep an eye on what we still need, and a couple of days before it's time to pack, I'll make a quick errand run to pick up any last-minute foodstuffs, sample-size toiletries, or other necessities.

12-24 hours before we leave, I start packing, and checking off each item on the master list as it is packed. (We don't have to worry about overpacking, because if it's not on the list, it does not go in the luggage! Thanks to this "rule," we've never needed more than one 21" carryon per person, for a week's vacation, and we've never found we were missing anything.) :D Once the list is fully checked-off, I can rest easy, knowing that nothing has been forgotten. When it comes to packing for Disney World, for me, it's all about the list! I wish you a smooth and joyful packing experience! :)

what time are u all heading out?

We're hoping to be on the road by about 7 am EST, which is 9 hours from now lol. Knowing us, it'll be more like 7:30 or 8.

I've got most of the packing done now; just waiting on one load of laundry to finish up so I can pack a few things that we wore this week and then we're all set, except for the things that will have to wait for the morning.

I so do not think you are crazy! I am doing the same thing right now. We leave next Friday and I put DD's daily outfits each in their own Ziploc baggie and tomorrow I am vacuum pack sealing them! Went last night to Target to get meds, first aid, and sun screen. I love getting packed up. It's part of the fun for me. '

Have a wonderful trip!!!!!
