Time to start packing! Am I going crazy?

This time next week, we'll be eating dinner with friends who are local to Orlando. We'll be spending the night with them that night so that we can get up and be refreshed before grabbing lunch and heading to the Pop to check in. Then the real fun begins! :)

I find myself feeling like I need to go ahead and start packing lol. I feel like I'm going to forget something: our magic bands, a sling bag or two, ponchos, protein bars, extra sunblock... yes, I know that there is very little we can't get just outside of the World if we need it when we get down there, but still... so, I'm feeling the urge to drag out that suitcase and start putting things in it now... at least things that I know I won't need between now and when we leave.

And, um, DH might get a tad annoyed when he learns that I'm thinking I may need our big suitcase. Good thing that sucker is on wheels, because this girl can't decide what to take to wear each day.

So, how far out do you start packing for a trip to WDW?

Go ahead... laugh at me. :p

Yeah we're actually caught up on our laundry. We've been doing a load every other day in preparation of this trip... we wanted to be sure we weren't stuck doing multiple loads the day before. Maybe that's part of the reason that I'm feeling the itch to pack... it would have made so much sense to go ahead and put things in a suitcase as I got them sorted, instead of putting them in drawers or in the closet lol.

I need to buy our travel stuff... I'll probably do that on Wednesday, since I have a half day of work :)

Yeah... one of my first threads here "might" have been about the very topic of what to wear to the parks lol. I think I've got that somewhat hammered out. I have a variety of running shorts and athletic skorts with tank tops, then I have lightweight dresses (including two that are from Athleta that are designed to wick moisture lol). I also found a couple of skirts I may end up wearing in place of one of the skorts because they have great pocket space... they'll make carrying around my phone and a protein bar much easier :)

I seriously need to start at least laying out my potential outfits so I can be sure there are no gaps in my wardrobe for the week! :hilarious:

Lol... this makes me feel better. I'll start packing tonight. When DH looks at me like I'm crazy, I'll just tell him that it's okay, because Tinkgirl says so. That will explain everything! ;)

Oh, and about the Disney gear... I've had to exercise real restraint when making buying decisions. Theses last few months, everything Disney seems to really catch my eye. I've probably saved hundreds of dollars by forcing myself to (sometimes with much difficulty) back away from the Disney stuff lol

I had my clothes ironed and hanging, in our spare room, two months before our May trip. I am going back in June, so I had to turn around and wash and iron everything, plus several extras, for this trip. I took extra outfits in May. I was so glad I did as it was so hot, and I had to go back to the room and change before going to dinner. I also have to carry long sleeve thin cotton blouses to wear over my tanks because even with sunblock I got too much sun. I've had skin cancer, so I have to be very careful. I've just about finished packing, and we aren't going back until June 8.

We'll just miss each other! We will be at the Pop June 1-7.

I've never had skin cancer, but I do imagine that I'm probably prone to it, since my dad has had to have several cancerous places removed from his face and his arms. The good news is I just came off of some medication that was making me more prone to sunburns, so hopefully between that and making a point to keep the sunblock on consistently, I'll be okay.

Keep an eye on the park hours on the Disney site. They've already extended the hours since the last time I looked. MK is open until midnight every night you're there except Sun. They're open until 3 that night.

We drive down starting on May 30th and arrive at Pop early in the AM on the 31st. Today I went to the store and bought everything we needed for the trip. I came home and started laundry. I will finish laundry tomorrow. As soon as we are home from the Memorial Day parade we will pack the suitcases.

Yep! 3 am for EMH... and we fully intend to use that time :) I'm very excited about that actually. It'll be our first night there, the night of our BoG dinner, and now this too! I've heard MK is even more magical in the wee hours of the morning. I'm sure they plan for it to be busy but I'm hoping that us staying away from 7dmt will help some. We have FP+ for that on Friday :)

So we will be at Pop at the same time? How cool!

DH won't pack until the night before. I've got a lot laid out in our guest room... will put it in luggage starting tomorrow or the next day :)

Honestly, I will be next weekend(if not slowly this week)...almost 10 day before our trip. I have to though as we have finals that next week and then I'll be at dance officer camp. I'll come home at 9-10 at night and we leave at 6 am to go to the airport the next day.

I've actually started a list of everything I need for the kiddo.

I know the feeling! Our finals were last week and now I'll have a day and a half to get everything packed up at work for the summer. I don't even know what room I'm in next year yet, so I have to pack everything.

ETA: I'm supposed to be coaching our dance team next year! I may need to seek your expertise on a few things ;)

The last time DH did that he forgot alllll his underwear. We were at a beach resort in Mexico so it didn't matter too much. He snatched the few pairs of his I wear to sleep in but past that we were in bathing suits.

Nice! Luckily my room will always stay the same since I'm the only dance teacher ;-)
You should take them to perform in WDW! I'm trying to push to go to HI but we may end up at DL.

What state are you in again? How big will your team be? I've got 45 girls next year
