What is the best time for a visit? I have been told after christmas..or before christmas right after thanksgiving. My buddies and I want to go, and we don't like the crowds, just looking for some feedback.:king:

Between Christmas and Spring Break IS USUALLY quieter.
However, park hours are less and attractions such as the fireworks will only (usually) take place at weekends with Fantasmic once a night etc.
So, while there are physically less people there, there are fewer hours for everybody to get onto all the attractions so realistically there isn't that much to be gained

Day after Thanksgiving

We always leave the day after Thanksgiving. We love to extend the trip and that's the perfect week. The first couple of days, we go to DTD to shop, Relax, go in the pools, play miniature golf, etc. Then starting Sunday, we start park hopping because that's when the crowds leave. It's already decorated for Christmas so it's beautiful and that's the only time of year we'll go. I took my kids out of school to go in 1998 and now we are all adults and can go at that time all the time. It's not too hot and not too cold. This year was the coldest we ever hit but we still had shorts on during the day. You can go to the Very Merry Christmas Party which is great! It's just the best time of year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

First week of December is awesome...low crowds and all the christmas decorations are up. You can go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and see the Candlelight Processional. The only downfall to this time of year is the shorter park hours. However, due to shorter lines and lower crowds, there's still plenty of time to see tons.

We love the last week of October, you can go to the "Mickey's very scary Halloween Party " at the MK , and it happens to fall at the time of the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot ( each country has a sampling of food and wines at a minimal cost ) it is very good , normally the crowds are not too bad at that time either :)

Just a tip, never EVER go to Disney in the summer, lol. It's extremely hot, and the crowds are huge. Kids are on summer vacation and a lot of people from Europe have their holiday during this time (we saw a ton of people from England). Also, we went to Disney in July one year, it was horrible because it rained about 6 days out of the 8 days we were there. I think in the Disney Birnbaum book it says that July and August are the most rain fall months, so if you want sunshine and hot weather really bad, then go in early June or late August. One of the best times to go when the weather is mild and there are less crouds, is probably in April-May (we're going in April this year) or between October and November.:)

Avoid sping due to spring break crowds and summer due to crowds and heat.

Early October is good (before the Epcot food and wine fest) if you want to hit the water parks and enjoy summer-like weather. It will still be low 90's upper 80's.

Halloween isn't bad either but the food and wine fest do draw some crowds, especially to Epcot.

Late Jan is low crowds too but then you can run into some chilly weather.

Cheers!

I think I'd still take the sweltering heat over the weather of my last trip. It was in the forties and raining the first week of Jan. '02.
It was so rainy that Splash Mountain was a retreat from the rain!!

Anyway, we have traditionally gone President's week (Spring Break for many), generally the week that begins at the very end of February. The crowds are usually moderate to heavy, but not too unbearable.
Our trip Dec. 30-Jan. 6 was supposed to be "off-peak" season, but there sure were a lot of people even with the low temperatures and rain.
Even still, it was my first time seeing WDW decorated for Christmas (albeit after Christmas). Their decorations were unbelievable (can anyone say Poinsettias everywhere!).

One thing's for sure, the big holidays are crazy :hammer: (Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.), but some like that kind of atmosphere at that time of year!
