Hi all. Leaving for the airport tomorrow at 10 am to go to Disney World. This last 24 hrs is dragging. What do you all do on the day before you leave? Everything is packed minus the last minute things you need to use before you leave....any suggestions?:o

On a side note, watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with my 2 yr old son last night and it was so cute. I had taped it and he insisted on watching it 3 times in a row.....anyone else see it?

It is usually something boring like making sure everything is sorted out in work so I don't come back to a pile of questions :(

But the night before I do some last minute research such as looking at dining menu's for places I have not eaten before, time the parks are open to each night, etc.

Have a good trip

I usually spend the last few hours worrying about what I've forgotten to do - then I call a few people that I'm not too crazy about and gloat about going!

This last trip I tried to make plans for each day to maximize time, money and experience. Although most of the time we just laid by the pool for 3 days, it was nice to know when the parks had Extra Magic Hours incase we got tired of the pool.
I would plan things out.... Magic hours, where to eat breakfast lunch and dinner, ect. this way you are not scrambling to find reservations and having an upset familyn on an empty stomach is not fun.
GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!!!

The day before we leave, we are usually finishing up laundry, and scrambling to make sure we have packed everything we will need.

Naps. I take a nap once I have everything packed, then I finish any house cleaning that I have to do, watch a movie, take another nap, things like that. Naps are the easiest way to make time go by, and watching movies makes me not watch the clock. Then I go to bed early because I usually have to get up really early to catch a plane. And the naps also help me catch up so I'm not exhausted when I get there.
Whatever I can do that makes the time go by.

I have all of my dining reservations made and I have checked the park hours and I have planned which parks we are going to on what days. The nap idea sounds good...now if my 2 and half year old ds would fall asleep, I would be set. I did a litle bit of cleaning. Just need to wash some dishes...

My dh just went over to a friend's house to print our our boarding passes for airplane...getting so excited....can't believe it is finally here...

Oh, that was funny about calling people you dislike and gloating....you should send them a postcard, "Glad you are NOT here"

I hear ya on the time dragging...at least you arn't waiting till July....hehehehe......

Im what you would call, a last minute packer......Who hasn't arrived to their hotel..opened up their suitcase/duffel bag....and thought...."i forgot something"...having to go to the local store or gift shop and pick up what was forgotten........Im Guilty of that ..for sure...

So thats why I pack the night before, while listening to my favorite disney radio stations on live 365 and thinking about all the exciting, yet magical journeys of my vacation.......

Anyhoo....Have a great trip..Ill be looking foward to the stories when you return.....

Work, work, and more work. I am usually packed and planned out so far in advance of our trips that I have nothing to do the day before. Since we usually try to leave on Saturdays, I try to work as late as possible the Friday before, that way I'm tired when I get home and ready to sleep, get up, and start the trip. I also do this because I have been told I have to sleep the night before as I am usually to excited to sleep and end up keeping others awake! :animwink:

It is now 7:15 pm....I packed our video camera and regular camera and cell phone chargers. My DH affixed magical express tags to bags and we have our boarding passes now.My DS , 2 and half has been up since 8am with no nap. I am hoping he will crash soon. He is wathing Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for the 6th time in the past 2 days.....

Gosh, I am bored......can you tell....I wrote our housesitter friend a note with instructions for taking care of our cat...going to miss her.

I even laid out outfits for the airplane ride for all of us...can't wait til I am tired enough to go to bed...

15 more hrs til we leave for the aiport....yippee :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

Sorry if I am boring you all, just trying to kill time

If you are really bored, these help kill time and they usually help put me to sleep too. (Sometimes it takes a long time to find an answer!)

Or this one is fun too, but it's a little outdated

Thanks Ahm... I am not too good at puzzles, but I loved checking out snopes site....That was a lot of fun. I think I am going to head off to sleep finally. My ds finally went to sleep at 10:30pm. I packed snacks for the plane and now am all set....

Naps? Sleep? Wish I could sleep before going to WDW. I love the commercial that they have where the kids are so excited they can't sleep, and so is the father - well that's me.

It only works because I usually have to work about 10 days in a row before I leave for a vacation. I'm exhausted at that point and would probably end up sleeping my vacation away if I didn't sleep before we left.

That makes sense, I just might try that before our next trip... so... sleepy :snore:
