I know this thread is a little old, but I thought I would tag my question onto it instead of making a new thread. Here goes......I know that Touchstone released A Nightmare Before Christmas, but I was wondering why it wasn't just put under the Walt Disney Pictures label (yes I know Disney owns both). I know that some people would say it was because A Nightmare is more adult then the usual fare placed under the kid friendly WDP label. But I was wondering if there was a more in depth reason to it.
The only reason I ask is because I just watched an old Pinocchio VCR tape with my son and they were advertising the making of a new movie called: "A Nightmare Before Christmas", from Tim Burton and Walt Disney Pictures, and then at the end they said a Walt Disney Pictures release. So did something happen was it going to be a WDP release, then the board decided that it was to adult, and needed to go to Touchstone? Does anyone have the scoop?
