Tigger was found to be innocent. The plantiff vowed never to go to Disney again, that was about it.

basically the person inside the Tigger costume was reported to of sexually assaluted a girl with his hands whilst on duty. however he was found innocent after he brought the costume to court and showed it was very hard to move around in.
on a side note: after this happened i believe there was another incident with Goofy because he supposedly pushed a cast member using brutal force however i don't know the outcome because all he said was that he was acting the part as 'Goofy!!!'

Long story short, about two years (maybe a bit more) ago there was a claim that one of the characters in the park inappropriately touched a teenaged girl. The case became a real magic killer in court with seperate costume pieces being shown to the public (imagine looking on TV and seeing a furry head being held up by a prosecutor). Anyhoo, it was not all in vain, because they were able to show that gloves did not allow hardly any sense of feeling. And, as one of my Backstage Magic tour guides so aptly put it, "if the allegations were true, we would have never let it get to the courtroom in the first place." In other words, if they even thought for a minute that the CM was guilty, they would have offered a settlement to keep it from becoming the very public trial that it became.

Its minor, but most news papers will report that someone pled innocent or a jury found a defendant innocent either 1.) because of ignorance of legal terms or 2.) (like with our local NOLA paper) they are afraid of printing that someone entered a guilty plea when they actually pled not-guilty, thus, opening the door to a civil suit...as you can tell, it is one of my pet peeves...

PLease leep in mind that Disney was not sued over this. I was a "friend" of the characters when all of this happened and Disney took a hands off approach. The cast member that was being accused was suspended until he was found not guilty and Disney did not provide any legal help in the case. The cast member's attorney was a part-time "friend" of the characters who had a very good law career and won the case. Disney did try to fight having the Tigger costume displayed in court but the judge decided that it was pertinent to the case and Disney had to allow the costume to be displayed.

I don't know how anyone in a costume could honestly even feel if they touched someone's breast anyways. Those things are kinda thick. If he did it on purpose, it probably would have been very obvious.
Did he wear his Tigger costume during trial? LOL I so hope he did. That would be so hilarious. :lol: :lol:

If you click on the link for the news article you can see a picture of the defendant dressing his attorney, who also was friends with Tigger, in the court room. The costume was actually brought into court in a Disney character black bag (what is used to transport the costumes around property) and from what I remember Jury members also tried on certain parts of the costume(head and Gloves ) to see what it is like to be a character.

for the record tigger sucks. no perifial vision. so don't sneek up on him on the sides or you will get touched or hit by accident.
People are stupid and looking for a big payday for doing nothing. On average a law suit is filed against Disney at the rate of about 1 per day day. My favorite suit was a guest that claimed their eardrums ruptured due to the pressure change when they went on the hydrolators.:hammer:Baums101 said:
