Ticket ?

I purchased 8 day park hopper tickets through Undercover Tourist. We have now decided to leave a day earlier, can we add a day to our tickets once we are at Disney? Or will we have to purchase an additional ticket?

Make sure you use the tickets before adding a day. But yes, you can upgrade any ticket up to a total of 10 days [so you can add up to two to your 8-day] any time within 14 days of first use. It will cost you $5.33 to upgrade each of your 8-day tickets to 9-day.

If you upgrade before using the tickets, they'll only credit you what you paid Undercover, so you'll lose your discount. But once the ticket has been used once, they'll credit it as though it was the full-value 8-day ticket so long as you do the upgrade within 14 days from its first use.

Good information. I knew that for APs but didn't know it for regular ticket upgrades. Thanks.

Actually, they'll credit you for even less than that.

They will only credit you for the amount of money that Undercover Tourist paid Disney for that ticket, which is less than the customer pays UT (because UT wants to make a profit on the ticket). Disney has no way of knowing what the Guest paid UT for the ticket.

The same goes for tickets bought from Disney, but whose ticket-price goes up after the purchase. I have an unused 1-day ticket from 2 or 3 years ago that I got as part of a Free Dining package. I'll be using it toward my 9-day ticket this June, but because the price of a 1-day ticket has gone up since I bought it, I'll walk into my first park with the ticket, and then immediately go over to Guest Relations to upgrade to the ticket I need.
