Ticket Upgrade Offer

I just noticed Disney is offering a ticket upgrade offer this 4-23 to 6-3 and was wondering if this is a deal that would make you go to WDW or if you would only be excited for the upgrade if you were already going and switch your package?

I think it could appeal to people who aren't going yet. The ticket upgrades cost a decent amount, and people could look at it as a way to save money and give them incentive to go. Should it isn't the best and most pulling offer Disney has ever offered, but it is something.

I agree, but I know most people really have to save to go and if I were not already planning to go this deal would not tempt me because I would not have enough to go in the first place, but last year with the Free DP I found enough money to get my family down when I would not of went last year.
Thus Disney got more money from at least one person that was not planning on goingto begin with.

My family is going May 15-21. We see this as an added benefit. We made our reservations in August to hold our place at the Wilderness Lodge Villas until a discount of some sort was announced. We're excited. Would it make me want to take a trip to the World? Not really. We were willing to pay full price for our trip though. We are simply happy to be going.

:)

I just called up Disney and they added the Water Park and more option to my already park hopper tickets for 5/17-5/24... and we saved 50 dollars! Yay, refund!

So, I have an 8 day MYW pass... does that mean I get six options? As in, I can visit any of the areas specified up to six times?

I always buy Hoppers, so the free upgrade would be nice.
Never seem to have time for a water park, though, and still have leftover passes from 2002.

This time frame is completely impossible for my family, however, so the offer will not intice a vacation from us.

Yes, you get 6 passes however you want to use them. You could go to the water park 6 times or mix it up. Keep in mind though, if you were to visit a Water Park and Disney Quest in the same day that would be two of your options and you would have 4 left. Also, if you visited a park that day as well, that would use up one day of your tickets as well as two of your additional options.

This is why if I were getting this package I would get less days on my ticket and use the options on other days of my visit. Because it becomes hard to use up all that stuff in one trip and if you get the No Expiration Option then you just spent a whole lot more money. Just my opinion because I try to stretch every $ in order to be able to make a trip down.

For all the other comments, thanks for responding! So it seems obvious that this kind of deal helps those who were already planning a trip. I would think Disney would want to market people who were not planning a trip at this time to "come on down"!

My question is, can you start your vacation before 6/3 but extend it beyond that date? My kids don't get out of school until the 1st of June. We could be there by the 2nd or 3rd. Could I still get the discount?

We have always done this regarding the season rates, but I am not sure about this kind of discount rate. You could go on the Disney website and try a scenario with your dates and see if it shows up that way? Or you could call Disney directly and ask. In my opinion I think this is possible though.

I tried to do that when they offered the free dining plan, start at the very end and go over by a few days, and they would not let me do it with the discount rate. I'd call and ask, but not get my hopes up.

I see why you'd want to get fewer tickets... but the price difference between how many days you get at the park is only a few dollars - not the huge difference it used to be, pre MYW. We're keeping our 8 day pass. I'm going with my boyfriend and we're both young and active. He actually got bored on our last trip since we didn't have the option of water parks! So, we'll see what happens. I can always add no expiration at the end of my trip if need be.

True! I know some people feel pressured into getting the No expiration as opposed to losing leftover options and that is when you really spend. Just thought I would mention it. Ya'll have fun!

Just a reminder the ticket upgrade package that is being offered will be expiring on 3/30/06. If you are thinking about going between 4/23/06 and 6/3/06, now is the time to be getting in touch with either your Kingdom Konsultant representative or Disney to book this offer!!!!!!! Belle

Changing purchased package deal?

My husband and I are planning on traveling to Disney in late August/early September. I am going to book our package later this week. I noticed the upgrade deal that is offered right now and my question is: if there is an upgrade deal offered for the dates we are traveling and I've already booked our package, is there any way to get the free upgrades without cancelling our package and booking an entirely new one?

Thanks!

I had already booked my trip for the current offer (going 5/17-5/24). I called Disney (just call), with the code (if there is a code, find out), and they applied the code, no charge. We actually got fifty dollars back!

No general public package offers have been made this year for those dates. Do keep a look out on these forums though as if anything comes out, either Pam, Kingdom Konsultant ( who is my Boss!!!) or myself will post something to advise everyone of an offer they can take advantage of!!! Belle
