Ticket / Resort Question

We will be going to WDW during spring break in mid-march. For the first time, I booked my room and tickets seperately (vs. getting a package as we have done in the past).

Simply because of my arrival and departure times, and because of the spring resort savings offer, it was a better deal for me to get my room and then 7 day ph+ tickets.

Anyway, here is my question, always in the past, my ticket, resort id, etc. was one card. Once I get there this time, can I have my ticket info transfered on to my resort id so that we only have to carry one card?

Sounds silly, but one less hing to lose! And often you are required to show a resort id (like for early entry days) so you would have to keep up with two cards.

I was in the same place last year - first trip not a package and not looking forward to having to carry both a room key and a park pass (x4, since I carry the cards for the whole family).

However, I don't think you can combine them, or at least I did not find a way to do so. As it turned out, however, it wasn't so bad. I thought it would be a huge hassle and it was really only a very small one.

We are going down next week and we are on a package again, so I am happy I am going back to just one card (in fact, I have always thought it so cool that the one card gets you in the parks, your hotel room, can be used for charging and, in our case, activates the elevator to take us to the concierge floor at our hotel - it certainly is unbelievably convneient!)

We reserve rooms and buy tickets a la carte separate b/c it is always much cheaper.

If you buy your tix at Check-In, they can put everything on the room key card for each person.

However, if you purchase the tix in advance to save the money, you cannot put them on your room key for a reason I do not understand.

So it can be done, it jsut costs about 22bucks a head.

Saving money

Oh yeah, as I said, I have always gotten a package before, but this time I got the resort and tickts seperately and it was quite a bit cheaper. 7 nights at the Pop Century and four 7 day park hopper plus tickets (three adults, one child) for a total of about $1860, including tax.

Thanks for the replies... always enjoyed having everything on one card, but for te savings, I can live with two cards!

Yeah, we were all about saving money on my last trip, so we bought tix WAY ahead of time, and through AAA. When i checked into my room at POR, I asked if they could just take my ticket and merge it onto my room card. They said they coudn't because of timing.

Say you have a 4-day park Hopper but you are staying in the resort for 6 nights -- they explained to me that the system only allows for length-of-stay passes to be on the room key, since they are both good for the same amount of time. The databases can't merge tix and keys onto one card that are for different durations. That's what I'm told, anyway.

I think I know a few computer programmers that could fix that problem for them, haha. It IS possible to have a database handle all that, but I guess they just don't want to spend the $$ on it.

It has nothing to do with a regular park hopper. If you purchase something at check-in, then you can be given whatever ticket you buy (1D1P, 2D1P, 3D1P, PH, PHP, UPH) on your room key.

Disney doesn't sell AAA tickets so that is impossible to put them on the room card. Special event tickets are seperate as well.

I don't think it's a big deal to have to carry two cards around instead of one!
And if you have to carry the tickets and room keys for everyone, then you really don't need to be carrying the additional room keys, do you?
So in the end you're only carrying one additional card.

We can't put pre-paid tickets on a room card. Tickets have to be purchased at check-in to go on the room card, and even then there are some that can't be added to room cards. Silly system. :brick:
