Ticket prices/kids ages

We will be visiting in October, and I have a daughter who just turned 3. Anyone know how strict they are on the age requirements? I know it says 3-9 for childrens prices, but if I could get away with one free child out of 4..... Thanks for any advice you can give!

"Honey, if they ask you how old you are, please lie for me so that I won't have to spend more money."

Not the lesson I want to be teaching a child, to lie when it's convenient. In our family, lies are lies and we just don't do it. Call me a goody two shoes, but we paid for my son as soon as he hit three, and we do not try to fake out the height requirements, either. If he doesn't fit the safety restraints, he ain't going. No thick socks and thick soles to make him taller.

Just my two cents. Your mileage may vary.

I wasn't making a reference to moral goodness or blameworthiness concerning any type of conduct! So Suzyo721, as I stated before let your conscious (not your conscience) be your guide in this matter.

If there's one thing I've seen while reading this site, it's that most people don't agree with cheating the system. It hurts everyone else, including us who have to pay for those that don't pay their share. I know you're saying that one time won't hurt, but if enough people do that it's just more that I have to pay. The prices are indeed high but pretty fair if you think about a comparable 8 hr day of entertainment. Heck, a movie is $8 now for just 2 hrs. Do the right thing

I wont dog anyone for following a particular course of action, but I will say this, If enough people do it, perhaps Disney will start charging for children regardless of age?? Just a thought. Belle

I won't dog you for the decisions that you make in how to raise your kid. On the other hand, I won't act surprised if your kid grows up to be a proficient liar.

Don't worry about that aspect Baggy. Heck, children of that age will have a very hard time even recalling small portions of the event, contrary to popular belief. Also, by definition, children of that age don't understand the concept of a lie. :D

Well, we've been teaching our 5YO about truth and lies for years, and he understands that he's expected to tell the truth all the time, and that we tell the truth all the time. He knows that "we don't lie in this family." He also knows that, if he does not meet the height requirement, then the safety will not fit, and he can't ride because it wouldn't be safe. The thought of doing something to make him seem taller doesn't even enter into his mind, and he's got good enough negotiating and problem-solving skills that I'm sure that it crossed his mind and was discarded because it was wrong. Believe what you wish.

Personally I wouldn't do it.

Think of this. Disney has suffered, along with the rest, because of falling patronage in recent times. If people aren't paying who should then that just compounds the issue.

We all conplain about cutbacks, but they only come because of cost savings being made due mainly to lowered attendance.

Sure, it's just one three year old, but how many more also do this.

Or how many ten year olds go in on a child ticket when they should have a full priced one???

Just MVHO...

I hadn't even thought about the ten year old angle until you mentioned it. Good point.

Another very good point surfsupdon! I never thought that anyone would ever put 5 or 6 adults (or kids) in a room that was designed for 4. I've even heard that some people bring their mugs on return trips so they can get free drinks at the resorts. WDW needs to crack down on these evil doers.

I would not call them "evildoers...."

And I dont mean cramming lots of people into one room...you can also have 2 adults and a young 20something aged kids who go with you, as "kids."

I am a mug re-user, but I still usually buy a new one if it's a diff design.

Yes, I know. I was just being a little sardonic and sarcastic in my previous post in an attempt to help folks understand.
