Ticket Prices - direct from disney best option?

I'm starting to shop for my best price on park tickets to WDW for my trip in March. (6 day parkhopper) Is it my imagination, or is Disney now competitive on prices? Last year when i searched around the same time of year, Disney was higher than all the other discounted options i could find. This year it's just the opposite. Buying direct through Disney looks like my best option. Can anybody explain this?

Be sure you are going to the cart - Disney won't show you the tax until you go to the shopping cart - the others do up front.

I think Allears has a page that shows Disney tickets with the tax included already.

disneyjoe - you are correct...i realized that a few minutes after i posted the question. guess i just didn't remember from a year ago. seems you've got to go to the cart wherever you're looking to find out if tax is included or not. now it seems like undercover tourist is my best bet. any experience or feedback on that site? thanks.

We have purchased from Undercover Tourist for the past 10 years, and they are amazing. The tickets come within 2 weeks, all the tax is shown in the price with no hidden fees, and there are no shipping charges. Wouldn't buy from Disney unless I was doing the Free Dining promotion where you have to buy a package. Hope that helps :))

Undercover Tourist all the way! Using them this year since I'm not booked on a package deal - room only! I always save $$$ using them. :wave:

We're lucky during our March trips because we're there for the UCA competitions, so we have to have park tickets to get in to watch our daughter(DHS). So, by going through UCA we pay something like $160 per person for a 5 day park hopper. Every dollar saved is good to me.

Isn't that almost half off? Are there any stipulations? (Like cannot be used until after 3:00pm)

That just sounds too good to be true.

No, they just know that by forcing us to pay for 2 days worth of tickets that cheer folks will be staying for more than 2 days. It might be $180 instead, but it's still quite the deal!

Yeah, because we have around 15-18 girls per squad x 3 so they're making plenty of money just from cheer families. The cheerleaders pay a participation fee and then since squads in our brackets and what not actually perform in the park we have to buy tickets just to watch our own kids.

I stand corrected. My wife told me that the $180 price was for 3 day park hoppers, with 5 day hoppers coming in around $240. That's still a savings of $100 and $50 per person.

Alot of the tickets they sell to groups like this end up having limits on the dates they can be used. Some of the discounted tickets they sell to the runners are only valid for like 2 weeks before and after the race. So this way you can't buy a bunch at a cheap rate and then use them at other times.

I have just purchased tickets for our group of 32 (heading down in March 2012) and the expiry on the back says December 31, 2012. The only stipulation is that they are used within 14 days of first use, but that seems standard to me.

Does anyone know.... if you purchase tickets through Undercover Tourist and you decide to add a couple of days while you are at Disney, can you do that through at the box office at the parks like the tickets bought directly through Disney?
